The HP is the better laptop.

Thanks very much for your reply. Is this simply due to the i3 processor versus the Pentium n3540. Even though the latter has a faster processor speed and quad core?

They're both much of a muchness tbh and for your usage you wont really notice the difference. The HP battery life is probably the sealer for me.
