I love it when the sun is 'on your back' and you can leave the waterproof / weatherproof gear in the boot of the car.

Lucan Demesne/St Catherine's Park was resplendent today - and thankfully no loud canoeists with their Tannoy system blasting out tinny rock music to a range of 1000 metres from the weir( which they did over the weekend).

Anyway - cant' compare with Bernard's but I eventually ' got' a kingfisher! That was after a pleasant 3 hours stroll...and a few chats along they way.

    It made my day:)

I was thinking today of my top three birds of this Island. The Bullfinch was one. Such a smart, robust looking bird. Goldfinch was another. I sometimes think of it as a bit exotic for here and the third... is the humble Treecreeper. So unassuming and I love it that on cold nights they huddle together to keep warm.

    TT

Yes agree there goldfinch is another one, I've only ever seen a tree creeper once it was too quick to get a proper look.
