It's some sort of Remington or AR platform rifle. .........

Correctomondo!:) DPMS[The upmarket Remington platform] Heavy or target barrel. With an intresting modification on the bolt fwd assist button..Its the earlier type button, not the more recent "round target" type.
At that range.223 is fine for goats or even feral hogs. With the big mag on it ,just hit them once or twice more and they'l go down no problem.
Heavier caliber on the AR platform ...No problem anything from .22lr up to .458 or .460 SOCOM,if you can fit it in the mag and magwell dimensions of the AR 15 lower ,all you need then is a matching upper in the appropriate caliber.

Still not big enough, get a AR10 platform, then you can use anything in the 30 cal range that will fit into the Ar10 lower mag.

In the video the rounds seem to exit pretty much every time, even with head shots, despite goats' famously very tough skull.

May be it's something heavier than .223.
Could the rounds he is using be FMJ ?
They do seem to go straight through them as you would expect from that type of round.
