    Hi there

First time in the forum, pleased to meet you all :D

I have a question regarding something lying around the house.

My mother and I were discussing the few bits of old belongings we have and we got onto the subject of a spoon she had.

She tells me she has a spoon that my granddad bought, at auction, when the family of the owners of duckets grove in carlow were selling off when they were selling the property some 40 - 50 years ago.

The spoon (apparently) has a date of 1490!!

On it is written some text about an auction with a country name, (possibly columbia) and 1490 written on it!

Apparently some years ago she got it valued in Allens and thy said it was worth €60 - I find this very hard to believe should the dates be correct.

Would anyone here know of the auction/date/ value of this piece???

    Any info greatly appreciated!
