Just popped into the United online forum.

Did Welbeck burn a United jersey after he scored?

He smiled, as he does when he misses or scores...and celebrated with his teammates, with his back to the fans on the side of the pitch he was on. He didn't celebrate towards either set of fans, only with his teammates. More honest and respectful than those who push away their teammates when they score against a former club imo.

Thought that was Coquelin's best performance for us by a mile, actually showed some ability on the ball on top of his defensive work. Thought Sanchez was a bit predictable and Ozil a bit ponderous in the biggest moments, both need to be sharper to have any hope in Monaco.

I think Sanchez needs a rest, I thought Ozil played well myself and I'm his biggest critic. Coq was brilliant, he wasn't taking any crap from Fellani and got stuck in.

I'd say Raf is quiet because he's celebrating the victory.

He may be lemon about the side a lot but it would take some venomous form of citrus to be annoyed after tonight.

Januzaj's dive was really stupid imo and summed up united's game for me, looking for the easy route rather than work for the goal. That could be seen in their play all night with their shítty route 1 football and constant diving.

Im sure it's hard being a united fan this season watching the low standard of football being played, I know a lot of my mates that follow united feel that way anyway.

I think we fully deserved the win tonight

Back from the pub. Watched it with 6 United fans. Unreal stuff! Wenger got it spot on! Danny Welbeck :pac:

I'm surprised you didn't have a few quid on him to get the winner?!

Love it. Theres something about beating Man Utd that means more to me than any other team. I guess its my age (31) and the fact that growing up we were the biggest of rivals. Thought defensively we were solid, Coq has a real toughness to him that we,ve been lacking.
Also a word about the ref, he didnt bow down to the home crowd and made most calls correctly. It was a clear dive by Januzaj or however the fcuk you spell it, in the fergie days that would have been a red for the defender and a definate penalty.

i.e I was really at home and didn't want to come on and have fans tell me I'm a negative sod :pac:

Ah no Only kidding Raf, It was a great result and its really nice to have great news instead of another bad night. Hate been negative and always love a good positive. Now to turn around that Monaco game in the 2nd leg.

If they can carry on the momentum from this to Monaco, then there's no reason why they can't do it. It will take a huge effort but an early goal and who's knows...

Ah we're both guilty of it ;). But we be back to the negative come Saturday :pac:

Have to feel for poor Walcott, he thought he was going to get some playing time then told to sit back down. I wonder if Wenger isn't feeling Walcott as main stay these days.

He's being criticised by Utd "fans" for celebrating. Apparently Ronaldo and Van Perise showed more class! I love football fanatics' mentality, I really do. Delighted for Welbeck, and it was clearly visible that he celebrated with his teammates rather than with or to any particular set of fans. That is respect for the game and both sets of fans.

van Persie showed class??? Did he feck! He went ballistic when he scored against us. Welbeck scored against a team told him he wasn't good enough. Knocked them out of the cup. He celebrated but I don't think it was OTT, was it?

This! This is what I was thinking throughout the game! Not only was the Utd team happy to play long balls to Fellani from the start of the game, but every free won inside Arsenal's half was deliberated over as if it was inside their area! Barca or Bayern would have the free taken and the ball worked into a goal scoring opportunity or two by the time Utd take to deliver a free kick these days. So so laboured and lacking any zest.

Agreed but god Im gonna live up these next few days. Had way too many United fans mouthing off at me for the last few years :D

Walcott situation doesnt look good for him atm. Seems to be a long way down the pecking order which is probably good news for us highlighting the depth.

Wenger gonna win 6 cups :D

I have a feeling that Walcott will be sold before his contract runs down too much. He hasn't gotten a look in at all lately.

    Delighted with the result tonight!

To be fair to him (and I dislike him a lot) he didn't in the first season he left after that then I think all rules are off to be fair. That's the biggest difference Van Persie wasn't told he wasn't good enough for Arsenal like Welbeck was at Utd, so yeah there was a little payback towards LVG rather then UTD Fans. Sure most of them clapped him off.

I was relaying what I was reading on redcafe. Welbeck's celebration was certainly not OTT. He showed respect for his teammates and both sets of fans. Dat guy is a decent guy..*needs to work on his finishing though*

Januzai has more bookings for diving than he has goals.

    That's a fact.

    The next Ronaldo? Nope.

I think Ox looks to be ahead of him now, I think Walcott will stay but be told what he get rather then him calling the shots at the contract talks. I doubt many big clubs will take him on with his injuries.
