Ultraviolet (90s show I discovered a couple of years ago, only ran for 6 episodes but had a lot of potential)

Amazing show, have it on DVD. It 'only' ran for 6 episodes because that's what the creator of the show Joe Ahearne had written in the first place, it was a self-contained story, and it concluded. Everything all wrapped up and he told the story he wanted to tell.

    The Wire.

Special mention to Friday Night Lights.

TFI Friday was excellent. I loved the short lived Bronx Bunny Show too, Podge and Rodge were alter boys compared to Bronx Bunny & Teddy Tourettes

Ah ffs. I can't decide now!

Quantum Leap, Smallville, The Inbetweeners, Friday night Dinner, Unsolved Mysteries were good too.

In my early years: MacGyver. Great show.

In my teens: The X-Files. Groundbreaking series at the time.

In my twenties (1997 to 2007): I'm Alan Partridge. Genius and underrated

In my thirties (2008 to present): The Inbetweeners

MacGyver for me. I was 10 when I started watching it so I thought it was basically the coolest thing ever. Can still remember the theme tune with zero effort.

Wouldn't call it the best... but it's probably my favourite.

In more recent years I'd go for Deadwood or Justified.

Either Curb Your Enthusiasm or The Larry Sanders Show for me.

It's the bally ballyness of it that makes it all seem so bally bally.

The West Wing. Even when the quality dipped after Aaron Sorkin left it was still better than anything else on TV. Honorable mention to Band of Brothers, the greatest mini-series ever made.
