LVG didn't shake hands with Monk, apparently. Poor from LVG if true.

He 100% shook his hand, it was clearly at the end of the game? Where did this speculation come from....

There is a difference between rotating and knowing your best 11 imo, when big games rolled around it seemed SAF knew the players to use to win games or at the least not lose. LVG is still at the tinkering stage. For me he needs more bodies in mid, I would go with one up with Rooney/Falcao, putting Falcao there because I've never seen him play with an out and out partner giving him the benefit of the doubt.

It is not good enough from a manager of LVG experience to still be in in the "I don't know my best eleven" at this point if that has come after the game. 2 up top and the diamond in midfield is near as bad as the other 3-5-2 stuff he tried to force the players to play imo.

The diamond was at fault for the equaliser, they got a three on two out wide with the crosser having too much time to swing a great cross in, nearing a corner situation, which was causing us no end of trouble.

I'm in the middle with LVG, I don't want to go into next season with another new manager "looking" at things but I don't want to go into next season with no CL footie.

Could do with a bit of this from someone in the first team squad.

A draw in the Liverpool v Southampton game today please.

Missing top 4 is now a huge possibility unfortunately. We have decent form even When playing horrendous football but all the clubs around us are showing much better form.

Just hoping the current lack of European football will work in our favour.

He came on today and did nothing. Plenty of options with the fullbacks pushing on, Herrera's movement, Rooney moving well ahead of him...

I think the creative edge of his game has diminished a bit in exchange for him plundering goals better now. He was a disappointment today.

Yeah, there's clearly something up but putting Mata in front of the midfield and behind RVP has to be a better option that punting it up to Fellaini.

Saw a stat yesterday about conceding 46% of all our goals from set pieces, that has to come down to poor training, maybe we need a new defensive coach, then you had players like Rooney having no first touch, ball was just bouncing off his shins. We are now playing most players in their correct position and formation and still look rubbish, I think it's going to be a long road to recovery but if we pick up 2 or 3 players that are needed and keep the ones we have we will have a top class squad that Should be fighting for trophies next season

    LVG slapped Monk's Mother, apparently.

As long as he aims them towards a goal then it's fine by me! :pac:

I have been more depressed about games which we have won lately oddly enough. I think there are positives to take from the game, also, if Van Persie is injured it may be a blessing in disguise as Van Gaal seems to have come to the conclusion that the Falcao experiment is not going to work, without Van Persie it is possible we may see a switch to a one man leading the line (Rooney) with a good support line behind and a solid midfield base.

One can dream I suppose, even Wilson starting up top with Rooney is something I would welcome, his pace would at least stretch teams and create space inside which is severely lacking at the moment, that and some runs from midfield would be such a massive help to the team going forward, the lack of goals is a worry and needs to be addressed.

We really need to give Sunderland a hammering next Saturday. Our goal difference could prove to be very important, especially considering it's currently less than Southampton.

I hope Herrera starts again. I thought our midfield did well yesterday. Same again next week please but this time maybe our striker(s) can start hitting the target.

Very disappointing yesterday. Only seen the highlights on MOTD but looked very poor. Wouldn't be a big fan of Savage but you couldn't disagree with any of his criticism. Beginning to get fed up with LVG and his tactics / selections. One thing that baffled me yesterday was Fellani playing at the top of the diamond. Sweet jebus when you have Mata Rooney Di Maria and Herrera who can play that role and are technically far superior but yet he plays Fellani there who has the touch of a clown. I give up

Really thought we should be playing a 4-4-2, with either RVP/Falcao up top and Rooney just off them, or with Rooney up top and Fellaini just off him.

I also feel that Young (and I was his biggest critic) has done more than enough to warrant starting on the LW. You saw the difference in his delivering when he came on yesterday. Di Maria has really been poor since his return from injury, but his place isn't really under threat given how ****e Valencia is on the wing.

Despite losing 2-1, Young and Herrera showed some very good signs. Herrera coming up with the goods once again. Blind and Rojo are very solid defensively too, which is good to see. I think McNair is still a bit fresh at RB, and Rafael is too injury prone despite having some ability, so both RB and CB need to be addressed. Jones/Smalling are just not up to it at CB, and Shaw needs a good kicking after his defending yesterday.

I would like to see a team of:
    De Gea
    McNair/Rafael - Jones/Smalling - Rojo - Shaw
Young - Blind - Herrera - Di Maria
    Rooney
    RVP

    You're wrong about Fellaini

It was on the Swansea FC official twitter page with #soreloser after it.

They have since deleted it because it didn't happen. I tunred off the minute the whistle went so didn't see.

Poor from them to have it up in the first place though

    Really which part exactly??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,547 ✭✭✭Your Airbag

@OptaJoe 8 - Only Cesc Fabregas (15) has assisted more goals than Angel Di Maria (8) in the Premier League this season. Crafty.

ADM has been poor but at least he's weighing in with some assists.

We can kiss top 4 goodbye completely if we drop points against Sunderland or Newcastle

Spurs, Liverpool, Villa, City, Chelsea, Everton coming up after. Being realistic we are going to drop a lot of points in that run, 8/18 is a real possibility

I feel Felaini can't win really.

Last year, he was dire and people called for his head because of it, despite his preformances often coming down to not being given a specific role in the team by Moyes, while everyone round him also sucked.

This year, he is given a role which suits him, is probably one of our best performing players and is actually working towards repaying his fee...and people are still giving out about him.

You work with the tools you have, and I personally feel LVG has done well with Fel this year, using him as a solid Plan B player and getting the most out of him. There is so much to criticise about the team, but the focus on Fel seems born more out of stubbornness than based on his preformances this season.

A lot of this is true, but Fellaini should be plan A, just not out on the right or as a quasi-striker. Play him in midfield like where Yaya plays for City. The reason he's looked good is that he's someone who can break the ranks but if his starting position is so far up the field then the opposition players will have an easier time covering him.

Well if Fellani is going to be our playmaker then we are well and truly fukd. Anyone who thinks we should be playing Fellani as a no 10, top of a diamond or up front has lost the plot completely IMO. We will turn into Stoke the way we re going.

If we are setting the bar at the level of Fellanis performances this season then our standards and expectation of MUFC have really really fallen.

Stoke play decent football now, far better than we do

21 points out of 36 isnt that big an ask is it?

Sunderland, Villa and Newcastle should account for 9 of them, avoiding defeat to the likes of Liverpool and Spurs is important, not sure how the Chelsea game will go, the derby could be anything and no reason we should not be getting past Everton.

Its a tough run in but by no means impossible and I still have full confidence in us finishing in the top four.

Spurs getting lucky to draw .. Dropping 2 is good result for us.. Draw in Liverpool match now would be perfect.
