And some of you were attacking me for saying top 4 is going to be almost beyond us ... :)

don't really know whats wrong with us at this stage. I'm tired of excuses and all that sh*t. This result could really affect us badly in the race for top 4. Arsenal have won and Southampton and liverpool are in top form. We are in big trouble now :(:(

Terrible result. Encouraging 2nd half and then took the foot off the pedal and never closed Uncle Fester down and it cost us big style. RVP anonymous, Di Maria wasteful.
How we didn't bring on a striker I'll never know.

Who though? Falcao who has been equally as dire? Or Wilson who has, what, one goal this season and isn't the type of striker to break down a "10 behind the ball" defence at all?

Can't defend like we did today and complain too much.

I want Rojo dropped. And Jones dropped. How many fucking corners did Di Maria put straight into Fabianski's hands over the match, Jesus Christ.

Absolutely not good enough. Look at what Chelsea did to Swansea a few weeks back. Absolutely battered them from pillar to post. That's what United used to do to teams. The current squad is a long way from that.

Rooney and van persie were terrible today.

i dont know how van persie is still in the team hes been in terrible form and honestly think hes been worse than flacao has been. its worrying that it seems whoever starts up front is just playing terrible.

Why didnt we put Di Maria on the right wing and Young on the left instead of taking off shaw? Valencia didnt do anything and Young was eventually being marked by 2. Boggles the mind

Disaster. Especially considering we played decent and took the lead.

Just can't see us holding onto the top 4 if this continues. Arsenal are playing really well at the moment and are guaranteed for top 4 and all our other challengers are playing much better than us :(

Must win our next 2 games against Sunderland and Newcastle before the big games against our rivals.

Shaw was shocking defensively. Left his man for the goal and nearly happened a second time only DDG saved. Switches off far too often. Mc Nair was awful too. Di Maria was terrible.

Really not sure which was worse; that RVP constantly got opportunities he squandered, or that Rooney never looked dangerous at all and never got any chances. After all the talk that "Rooney is our best option up front", the reality is he had a very poor game again today. It's scary we have RVP, Falcao and Rooney and yet our strike rate is dismal. RVP couldn't hit a barn door and Rooney just never looked all that bothered.

Thought Herrera and Fellaini did grand today. McNair didn't follow up his good preformance last game at all. DiMaria wasn't great. Defence was the usual shambles. Young changed the game positively when he came on. Mata, on the other hand, did nothing.

I honestly don't blame LVG at all right now though; there's still too many players who just aren't up to scratch at the moment. We're still in the middle of a rebuilding process, but we desperately need to bring in a new striker and a new defender this summer.

Strongly disagree. Rooney has some immense touches and was laying the ball of wide and onto runners, there was a noticable urgency about our attacks and we pinned Swansea back for long periods.

When Rooney came short, Van Persie strayed up top, when Van Persie dropped short, Rooney went long. The forward linkup play was MILES better today. There was much more urgency about our play and attacks.

Poxy deflected goal totally against the run of play, amn't actually as annoyed as I should be. Thought the team looked a lot better, thought we looked more threatening and if that starting line up could settle a bit, I'd be confident it would cause a problem for anyone.

But the BIG noticeable difference was the linkup play with our forwards, Rooney was immense first half.

In the grand scheme of things, with a tough run of fixtures on the horizon, that's a massive set back. Will need to start another run, and quickly. Draws arn't going to be good enough to secure top 4.

Shocking result and really poor performance. I can't think of a game this season where I've been more annoyed.

What a really really poor performance. Clueless.

Special mention for Angel Di Maria. What an absolute waste of space he was today. He might has well not been on the pitch.

Utd look all over the place at the back, with very little protection from midfield. Jones was awful again today. Just pick a ****ing back four and stick with it ffs. Let them get used to each other.

Oh and did I mention Angel Di Maria. Shameful from him. *

This post may be knee jerk but at the moment I couldn't give a ****.

If anything today was our best performance in weeks, I honestly fear for us when the big boys come knocking - Chelsea, City, Liverpool and Arsenal could put us to the sword.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,192 ✭✭✭✭Kerrydude1981

All the play again but just not enough chances been created again,

The more this season goes on the more confused you would get watching Utd play.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,917 ✭✭✭Whatsisname

What annoyed me the most was the constant ****ing hoofing to Fellaini as if we didn't already have another 10 players on the pitch. One time we don't go near him Herrera scores.

Arsenal will destroy us in the FA Cup, and overtake us in the league

We're competing with crap like Liverpool, Southampton and Spurs now for 4th

Funnily enough I didnt think that was anywhere near as bad as in a lot of the other matches pretty much since November

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,890 ✭✭✭Nolars

Cant believe people saying Rooney played well cause he played some nice layoffs? really is that not expected and more? Rooney and RVP do not make enough runs and do not posses the pace or power to make defenders panic.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,906 ✭✭✭✭PhlegmyMoses

Di Maria is looking like a busted flush at this stage. Scary to think he was tearing teams a new one last season at the very highest level.

Some players benefit massively from having other players as the focal point (Ronaldo, Bale and Bemzema in Di Maria's case) but struggle to raise the other players around them when things aren't going well. Di Maria seems like this kind of player

Can't agree that we were good today. We hardly peppered their goal with shots and only looked dangerous with crosses (still can't believe that we didn't use 4-4-2). We looked clueless today.

I'd strongly consider starting wilson up front against Sunderland. He might show a bit of energy and will stretch a defense. Both RVP and falcao are just completely useless at the moment. Have no confidence at all.

I genuinely could not disagree more tbh.

I thought his "touches" were constantly ones he should have been trying to fire off as shots, but instead he'd slow down play by constantly laying balls back. He had no pace or urgency at all to the game, and came across (to me) as not being bothered by anything at all. He was utterly anonymous for chunks of the game, wasteful for others and certainly not the world beater some thought he might be if played up front.

Our front line is in horrid form at the moment; none of them have any confidence or have shown signs of getting out of their rut.

Unless Wilson gets his Dutch citizenship it ain't happening.

    Oh What a Night,
    Late in May in 99
Ole scored a goal in extra time
What a feeling, What a night.

    Love it :D

    thats shíte ok? ok.

The fact that Fellani is uniteds biggest threat at the moment is a sign of the massive problems there right now. He's a lump, a useful lump but with players of the technical ability out there united should be creating chances by playing actual football.

Very unlucky today tho. You guys were the better team even if 3 shots on target from 18 is super poor. If Pool and Spuds win the top 4 race is gonna be super close. Pool, Arsenal, City and Chelsea to play in the last 12 games too makes the run in tough.

Same. We were good for a win there but a hit and hope changed things.

If we are to be critical when we win and say we were lucky to win, we should be equally honest when we lose unluckily.

ATM Southamption, Spurs and Liverpool are playing an awful lot better then us - Top 4 now would be a BIG achievement for United.

They already did that today. Any result for Southampton tomorrow and we're 5th.

I didn't say we were good today - I just said that it was our best performance in weeks.
