yea they are open 7 days a week, if on a match day, stadium tour is still on but you wont have access to dressing rooms and other areas

I've definitely done the tour on a Sunday recently enough. I remember it quite clearly as a player "slipped on his f'n arse" in the match we were watching on TV, whilst waiting the tour to begin.

The tour is well worth doing. I hadn't been on it since the mid 90s. I can't remember the exact cost, but for members it was ridiculously cheap.

    FWIW

The Museum opens 09:30 to 17:00 7 days a week^. Stadium Tours start at 09:40 with the last tour beginning at 16:30 except on match days and some school holidays*. The tour lasts approx. 80 minutes.

*Tours are not available on match days and are subject to change at short notice.

^The Museum will be closed on all weekend match days. For midweek matches last entry to the Museum will be 14:30 and it will close at 15:00.

Seems you can do it on Sunday unless there's a match on.

That was already proven to be a fake, it's based on a mock-up from a few months back.

From what I hear the United jersey is predominantly red with black trim and is going to be a fairly no frills simple design.

Thought we looked good with one up front in the last game, playing with 2 up front is almost like playing at a disadvantage becuase often both are just static in the box waiting for a cross. Would be great to see this tried for a few games

    .......Blind Herrera.......
    Di Maria Mata Young
    .............Rooney............

Adding to this, apparently we'll have an away/3rd kit that's black with pink stripes, so I've read.

Looks like he is 10 year old not 16.

Sky sports mentioned that he was released by Genk last summer, odd? Any idea why?

They didn't want his brother who we seem will be also signing. He is a goalkeeper and not quite tall enough, to fit what Genk want.

Their father wants them to play together at the moment while their young, his brother can't sign a contract as he is only 13.

Oh yes, Ajax have had absolute beauties as away kits for the last few years.

Also, surprised nobody has said it yet but De Telegraaf have been reporting Nigel De Jong has reached agreement with us. Apparently a free agent this summer.

Bit of a stupid random off topic question but could Jerseys be made with velcro so when someone pulled them it would come off in their hands?

    From redcafe.
The pic is from just before Christmas when the family came over to visit the club and did the stadium tour. His brother has trialled with us as well but hasnt been signed yet, there are a few other English clubs interested in him as well. At the moment Indy is spending 2 weeks in Manchester followed by a week in Belgium and this will continue until the summer when the family move to Manchester. He has played at u15 level for Belgium but hasnt played u16 because he hasnt been playing club football. He was rated as 1 of the best in the Genk academy but his father removed him from Genk because they decided to release his younger brother after bone density tests showed he was unlikely to grow above 1.85m even though he was doing well for them and won GK of the tournament at a couple of underage European tournaments. There were a number of other English and Dutch clubs interested in him but United got him in early and have been bringing him over for training regularly for the past 6 months

So apparently De Jong has told Milan he wants out and LVG he wants in at UTD.

At 30yrs old I'm not sure he is the kind of MF we should be buying. Do people rate him or should we pass?

A year ago I would have taken him and be glad to have him. Now I`m not so sure. We have added to the MF and have shown we are not afraid to spend big, presuming we would splash the cash again in the summer(something Im not sure Utd will do) then we should be aiming for a higher calibre and longer term player.

Edit: Just read one of the posts above saying he would be available on a free. If thats the case then he would certainly be a good addition.

De Jong for free would be great business whatever way you slice it.

yea I agree, if you want to challenge for the league and champions league you need better players than him

De Jong on a free transfer is a great bit of business.Good addition to the squad.

De Jong on a free would piss me off.

He would be a good addition to the squad but if Van Gaal/Woodward think he should be a part of the squad why not make a move from him last summer or in January when he probably could have been got at a decent price given his contact situation and Milans financial situation.

Agreed, but a squad needs to be built and he is a player that wouldn't be screaming for first team football, but would be adequate for providing cover at the base of a midfield, or against lower teams in the PL.

Carrick won't last forever and has had a decent amount of time on the sidelines because of injuries in the past couple of seasons. I'd rather see De Jong in there as a (free) squad player than shoe horning Rooney or Herrera in there if Blind or Carrick are not available.

No brainer for me, free player who would add to the squad and not agitate for first team appearances.

Pretty much this. Van Gaal has seen the deficiencies in the squad so if he thinks De Jong can do a job then why not I always felt that De Jong and Carrick would have complimented each other quite well but we'll probably never know now.

De Jong was Milan's best player last year. It would be silly not to bring him in if LVG thinks he can do a job here.

how is he playing this year???

in one aspect it makes sense, we have lost Fletcher and Ando and need players in the CM squad.

in the other, our problem is not lack of steel in midfield, its creativity and tempo - does De Jong give us this?

i dont think so. id be happy with the signing, if he was complimented with a top class midfielder who can dictate games.

Provided he's not our only signing, I'd be happy with him. If we're back in Europe next year, we need to expand the squad while also cutting deadwood. He'd be a good addition to the squad at pretty much no financial risk.

de jong left city at 27/28 in his prime, now he is 30 and on a free in the summer. Free transfer usually mean big signing on fees, for him I would imagine 2-3m signing on fee at least, PLUS 100k a week wages. We already have Carrick, Blind, Fellaini, Herrera who can play in his position AND van gaal is making a midfield enforcer HIS TOP summer transfer target, so I would highly doubt that we will be making the move for de jong.
