    Why is it called Lyric FM of none of the songs have any lyrics?

    Wellllll Songs do have Lyrics!!!

    But I presume you're referring to the music without words!! In which case they have a melody but not sung... You can describe a melody as lyrical even if it's not sung!!

    I think Lyrical is a loose term but it's origin is thought to be from the greek instrument 'Lyre' which was a harp-like instrument used for accompanying.

    Another theory is that it refers, not to the music, but rather to the lyrical voices of the classical music experts that guide the listeners through the testing programming: Gay Byrne, George Hamilton, John Kelly, and the prince among them, Marty Whelan.
