These guys are newish on the scene and have a great sound, they've released a few songs on eps, but yet to release an album.

Only properly discovering Sparklehorse now...Good Morning Spider is an amazing album. This is my pick off it, though Pig is also a beast of a tune.

Wussy - Teenage Wasteland

Again its hard to define "alternative" right? I love Wussy, but maybe you'd call them a rock band, but they dont get mainstream airplay in the US despite 9 albums, so who the F knows, they're "alternative" to the usual rock bands.
