    hi guys

i have a mac which runs hot and the fan gets loud like a hair dryer.

i keep my use of chrome to a minimum, it seems to happen whenever i watch hd movies/clips on youtube.

i didn't a complete fresh/reinstall of mac os (yosemite) about 4 month ago, and everything was fine until about a week ago.

I'm looking to be able to restore my mac to 4 months ago when the fresh install was complete.

is there any way of doing that?

I know it can be done on windows.

    p.s. i don't use Time Machine backup.
    thanks v much,
    ed

Do another fresh install. Time machine is the backup/restore of Mac - if you're not using it you can't expect to restore to an earlier time point.
