Is there a time limit on charges on credit cards

    Hi

I was checking my bank account recently and found a transaction on my credit card for a store that I haven't been into in months. I rang up the bank and they said that it related to a charge made on 21 Oct 2013. I haven't the faintest on what it could have been or even sure that I would have made it and have checked old statements to make sure I wasn't charged twice.

I am planning on ringing the store today - but just wondering is there any time limit on when a company can make charges to your card?

    Thanks

Not sure about a time limit but if its chip an pin, then, as the pin is only known by you, its down to you to prove you did not do it.

Might be worth asking the store to forward you on the terms and conditions that you signed when you applied for the card. Have a read over it and see if there is any clause in it regarding your situation.

It's not a store card, its a credit card.

OP, probably the person who you were talking to in the bank could have answered that for you.

I thought it was 12 months, but I can't remember where I got that from or even if its correct tbh, so no good to you sorry.
