Was headed in to pick one of these up today in woodies, but as I was next to a b and q I said I'd pop in out of curiosity.

They have window vac WV60 models for €64 reduced from €119 (i think is what it was on the promo)

As you can see from the attached pics it comes with a fair few accessories etc.

Gets decent enough reviews on Amazon too.

Just thought I'd give a heads up to all you bargain hunters.

My local Tesco has it for E49 and E44 for the model without the accessories.

    Seriously?

Mines not out of box yet..... I could be saving myself another €15 yet.

Thanks, picked up WV60 in Tesco Drogheda for €49.50.

After using it around the house, it's a nifty little gadget but not strictly necessary. Also very awkward to clean the outside of the upstairs windows from inside.

Available in large, 'bargain bin', mixed with a clutch of Belkin Routers, Bloomfields, Dun Laoghaire, South County Dublin. Middle of the store, middle of the main cross aisle.

I didn't catch the price, but I think it was under fifty euro.

vicvatson, I don't know for sure, but I see there is a version comparison table in Amazon that might be useful:

Are these as good as advertised, i.e. do they do a good job of cleaning the window and leaving it streak free?

Would they be any use for a curved window (car windshield etc)?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,404 ✭✭✭✭vicwatson

^^ Yes they can, and are pretty good at it too.

Not great on the inside of the car window, because of manoeuvring with the dash and rear view mirror. On the outside it's perfect though.

I had to visit a few Tesco's today before I found a WV60 on the shelf, none in Clarehall or Artane, Balbriggan has WV50's at €44 and Drogheda still has 3 WA60's at €49.95. I've tried it and seems to work very well.

If you walk up the car accessories isle they are 3/4 the way down on the left hand side.

I have one of these more than a year now and find it great. Use it every day to dry the shower door and the condensation off the windows in bathroom ... 30 second job. Use it for window cleaning too and its great. Bargain at these prices. Karcher much more innovative than dyson imho - patio cleaner and this yoke are top gadgets.

    Wex has WV60 @ € 66.00 and WV50 @ € 44.25

Why is it € 66 in Wex and Drogheda has them at € 49.95??

They've been there for a few days and surprisingly they're not exactly walking out the door.

Money must be tight all round..

My dad bought one of these today. He recently had a home extension so has a 5m wide tilt and slide door to the back garden. It's a lot of glass with a glazed screen above it too extending into the pitch of the roof, anyway, that's another story.

I tried the unit today on one panel. It's very good IMO. I only done one internal panel as he he waiting on a few finishing touches so no point doing the whole lot. I'd recommend.

Woodies have a 'Hoover' Window Vac on offer. Down from €80 to €35. Bought one. Some amount of kit for the price. Comes with some accessories too. Feels really heavy duty.

Yeah, it's not too bad at all. If you move to quick it will leave a streak, but if you take your time it works pretty well. Pretty impressed for the price tbh.
