    Any one here have or shooting with a Welsh Springer? what are they like?, where did ya get it?.

    Considered getting one some time back,quickly changed my mind when after a little research I found out that the hunting line of wss were all but extinct, and in the event one could be found that they were very soft and would have to be treated with kid gloves.Like a lot of the gundog breeds,they are now essentially useless from the point of view of a roughshooters dog.

    i shot over one with the uncles in the valleys in mid glamorgan south wales , that was about 5 years ago dog was brillant but even then finding a hunting good strain of the breed was next to impossible, this was an old line that sadly has died out uncles not hunt ESS
