I have a HG658C with Vodafone broadband and I want to set it up to PPPOE mode so that I can get a NAT 1 connection on the Playstaion.

Ive managed to change the setting to PPPOE and get NAT 1 on the playstaion but all other devices in the house lose connection as a result.

Can anyone talk me through step by step so I can insure I am doing it properly!!

    Thanks in advance

    You are.

Doing it that way takes the session that the modem normally makes and pulls it over to the playstation. But as the playstation isnt a router, only it can access the internet.

    Port forward.

You need a better router that does uPNP (plug and play) so the console can open it's own ports. It's a known issue with the HG658C that uPNP does not work. You are best to bridge it and add a decent router, there have been threads about bridging the HG658C on here before of you search.
