An apparent Austrian United fan on reddit claims the sources are highly reliable. Have to wait and see I guess.

You don't need to understand team mates in fairness, he has falcao making class runs blind just needs to put the ball in their to give falcao a chance. He never took a single risk tonight, needs to step up his game, he is playing for man utd now not Ajax

If he just put the ball in then that wouldn't work either. He needs to put the ball in at the right time and in the right place. That requires an understanding with the strikers.

United would be doing very well to be passing the ball like Ajax btw.

Pro F Its about getting your head up and putting the ball in. A 10 year old would be coached that.

And yet it's a very common occurrence for high level professional players to have these problems.

I thought Januzaj was by far our best player, the only one looking to create anything. The usual marked improvement when Herrera came on is getting tiring, when is he going to get a run of starts??

After tonight, are we agreed that the formation isn't everything? We played 442.

Some players were just simply poor, from the first minute when Di Maria couldn't control a simple ball.

Whether that is the players' fault or the managers' is debatable

Di Maria is one of the world's best players, it's worrying when he plays so poorly

LVG sounding very foolish in his Press Conf....
Its as if he blames the other team for defending!!!
Like Utd should not have to play against a team that sets up to get a draw.
    Pathetic performance again.

    Poor tonight.

Im trying to think of a sensible notion to put forward as to why the talent we have, couldn't put away a mid table league 2 side.
I'm thinking we are very rigid and thus easy to defend against with a bit of organisation, which has been evident in quite a few games. In fact, it seems to me that the 2 midfielders to the sides as in januzaj and Fellaini play very wide almost like conventional wide midfielders in a traditional flat 4. I'm thinking does this have the effect of crowding the full backs space coming forward and isolating Carrick. If these two were narrower, Carrick could drop deeper to take it from the centre halves, avoiding the need for them to come out with it (poorly as they do). He then has options ahead to play one twos and work space as well as the wide options of the full backs moving on. As it is, it appears the options are for the centre halves or Carrick to play it more direct to the forwards or to play it wide where 2 players are standing alongside each other.

Essentially we need more movement and more fluidity and more Herrera and more cranky Januzaj...I think he did well a couple of times late on when he appeared to be a bit agitated.

Did I really just type all that in the midst of struggling to beat a league 2 side? Oh dear...

Glad he took off Blind and replaced him with Shaw.
Blind needs a serious kick up the arse. So wasteful with the ball

The main thing I got from tonight is that Phil Jones is not United standard, never has been and never will be, and he should be sold/gotten rid of as soon as is reasonably possible. He is stealing a wage at the club. Rojo, while not exactly being a world beater himself, looks a far better player in every respect. As has been said above, hopefully LVG's mind has been made up about a few players. Simply not good enough tonight.

I'm not one bit worried about tonight's result. These things happen. Extra game for us season ticket holders to pay for but no big deal!

Jones was absoultly a disgrace, him and smalling are a pure and utter disaster. They've had years now, both are never going to be at the level required for a top team, arguably you could throw Evans in with them too, equally as clumsy and foolish at the back.

    Januzai was the only positive.

Can we talk about Kate Upton instead of tonighrs result?

Interestingly they said on BBC that of the 11 who flopped v MK Dons, 9 never played for United since (and probably never will again).
DDG was the exception, and Evans, who may get the chop soon

LVG did not like losing 0-4 to MK dons

Thought Rojo was the only positive myself

Rojo is by far our best defender.
Smalling can stay I'd like to see him form a partnership with Rojo, his pace would compliment him well.
Jones and Evans can take a hike imo.

I'm ok with it. Gives a big squad another game at home for out of form players to try and get their game back, while not risking precious league points. Unlike years gone by, the extra game is certainly a positive. As someone said, crap like this result happens. What's worrying is how badly theyre playing obviously. Hopefully games and competition within the squad will rectify it

01 de Gea- Obviously was still going to be selected.
36 Vermijl- Youth player, may still make 1st team
41 James- Youth player, may still make 1st team
28 Anderson- Deadwood. Will never put on a Manchester United jersey again.
06 Evans- Still surprised he wasn't fúcked out the door based on that night.
    38 Keane- Wasn't he sold?
37 Janko- Youth player, may still make 1st team
26 Kagawa- Harsh to judge him as he went off injured.
14 Hernández- Please come home someday :(
19 Welbeck- Still think he should've been kept.
22 Powell- At this stage, I don't think he's going to break into the 1st team.

I went to the Southampton game a few weeks ago and couldnt believe how poor Jones looked. Thought he looked uncomfortable on the ball at all times and seem to be duped in every one on one. He doesnt inspire confidence, whether its a blip i dont really know. But, given the Duncan Edwards talk, he has been disappointing. Also thought Luke Shaw looked poor but am going to give him a season, looked half the player of Clyne to be honest.

Surely with his height, he should be in the box. He doesn't even have good dead-ball ability. It's just baffling.

That performance from jones tonight will (hopefully)seal his fate will LVG. He was getting seriously pissed off on the bench with his constantly **** passing. Valencia is another who I can't ****ing abide anymore, every attack just dies when gets the ball. It's all been said before but it's a disgrace he can't even beat a ****ing league 2 FB. Serious amount of deadwood in that team, laughable that there was some talk of a title challenge a few weeks ago. Ugh I need a Valium or something.

Pogba's agent doing his thing again
“He will stay here this window in Italy and after that it’s also up to Juventus and up to himself to see what are the possibilities and what are the things to do.

“I have been in football long enough to say that I cannot foresee the future. Today Paul Pogba is the most expensive player if he would be on the market – that’s the risk, that’s normal; there are only a few clubs that can afford him.

“Let’s say that I am aware of the interest that there is around Paul, obviously, and without naming them, everybody that knows a little bit about football knows that there are only eight clubs that can afford him. That’s the eight clubs that will get into the scramble or the battle to have him.”

“Paul has always said he is not angry with Manchester United – you need to move on. So there is no personal grudge against Manchester United. On the contrary, he holds Manchester United very dear and has very nice memories.”

United's name being used as a contract bargaining chip. Again.

Awful performance but not surprising. Also what I don't understand is how our defenders are getting the blame. They maintained clean sheet which is their primary duty, blaming Valencia is fine as he was attacking outlet on right but Jones? WTF. Looks like few people have this preset posts where they blame certain players no matter what.

Out attacking play was embarrassing, this team doesn't play like a team at all. Absolutely 0 combination play, just hoping for some moment of magic from one of the attacker.

Also match day thread is just embarrassing, especially from one set of fans with weird mentality. When United fan post during their game they make is sound as if it's the biggest mistake on internet but the same people make posts to wind up on United match day threads. Always best to avoid those threads.

It's funny imo. Last time some posters here said it was stupid to question it, maybe hes decent at lumping them in, in training. The same match Fellaini was playing right wing, we had 5 at the back and during set pieces we had 2 of our main backline and tallest players in the wall against free kicks outside the box. It just doesn't add up at all. Van Gaal would want to get his rollerskates on fairly lively. So far vs lower league opposition we'd had one humiliating defeat, the draw tonight, and the previous cup game it took a Herrera wonder strike late in the game to seal it. Apologies if I'm not filled with confidence

The Jones and Valencia bashing going on over the last couple of pages is funny. Blame two of the back four when the four in front of them were pure muck. Carrick, Fellani and Di Maria are the ones who done sweet F.A in the game. Janazuai has had very little game time. The back four and DeGea done what they had to do.
But we create only a couple of chances against L2 opposition, fail to score and we blame the CHalf and R Back. Dear oh Dear

The lack of movement by midfielders as in showing for the ball when defenders are looking for a pass forward is worrying.. defenders resort to hoofing it out. On Jones, he just looks so uncomfortable on the ball especially when he has time

The lack of tempo all over is the field is also very noticable.... The number of times we had opportunity to run at them and we just slowed it down and let them regroup. Is this coming from log... wanting to keep control.. not to gamble with high tempo.
Looking at Giggs on the bench, even at his age, he probably would have been a better option than many of them, and that's a sad reflection on the current bunch.
