I listed formations he used, false no 9's, playing players in different positions to gain advantage over the opposition, and most importantly I listed every single trophy he won as a manager.

If you still don't think he was a tactical genius, goodluck

Your post was like saying Nigel Mansell was a genius racing driver because his car had four tyres and a steering wheel.

We know he won trophies, we know he switched formations (like every manager does) but that does nothing to explain why Fergie was a tactical genius.

And I haven't yet stated my opinion on that, I was just responding to your assertion.

Just out of interest, who do you clasify as a tactical genuis, and why? Explain it in a format that you'd like bangkok to regarding Fergie.

and no, its not at all like that, ferguson managed a football team, buys and sells players, manages human beings, manages personalities, manages millionaires, manages situations outside of his control, Nigel Mansell just got into a car and drove it

Doesn't matter about Fergie or LVG, Moyes was a level above both of them...combined.

    Am I doing it right?

What exactly is Tactical genius if you want explanation on why Fergie was tactical genius. No manager can win so many trophies if they are not tactically great.

Yes he should have won few more champions league but there are many factors involved in it.

How many times did we reach the semis under Fergie? six or seven?

We got to 4 finals and lost semis to Leverkusen and Dortmund. Am I forgetting one?

Alex Witsel: "A lot of my colleagues play in PL. I'm still young. We ‘ll see in the future. I've always liked MUFC from when I was young."

Not sure how recent the above quote is. He's a very good player imo.

Reminds me of a post I saw elsewhere in the immediate aftermath of the Southampton game...
In a team that has Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, Angel di Maria, Radamel Falcao, Juan Mata, and Ander Herrera, we're playing hoofball to a giant microphone to try and draw level with Southampton.

    What the actual fúck?
Harsh on Fellaini, but it gave me a laugh.

Thinks so. Games vs Leverkusen was so hard to take, should have made it to finals in that season.

Would love to see how many teams have won CL more times than ManUtd when Fergie was in charge and how much they spent.

Also foreign rule had big impact on some of Fergie's best teams in early 90s and also English teams were banned for years which put them behind European teams by good few years.

Calling Fellaini's performances this season a result of hoofball is a gross misconception.

    Are you seriously getting this...

I was thinking the same, there seems to be no one in the thread here saying such a thing.

    No.

Nah, agent probably telling him to hold off.... He'l end up getting more money either way then.

maybe Valdes was a way to show DDG and agent that they won't be completely held to ransom

Or maybe I need to go to conspiracy theories

    No.

So you slag me off even though I have listed points why fergie was a genius, yet you are asked and you just say "no"

    Great argument
