Squeaky Wipers

We just bought a 01 Nissan Micra for the young fella to learn in and over all it's a good little car but the wipers squeaking is driving everybody mad,
They squeak every time they are used, It's a very loud squeak as well.
They do not judder at all, It's all Squeak...

So far I've cleaned the windscreen with everything I can think off, got all the traffic film off, Tried using (at different times and not in that order)

    O.A.C All Purpose Cleaner,
    O.A.C Citrus Pre Clean,
    O.A.C Glass Cleanse,
    AG Fast Glass,
    AG Glass Polish,

    Nothing worked yet.

Cleaned the Wiper blades - still squeaking,
New Bosch wiper blades bought - Still squeaking

The Windscreen might be to clean at this stage ?...

Has anyone any idea how to cure it.
You might just save my sanity.
    Thanks,

    Andy

Try G1 Clearvision Smart Glass of GTECHNIQ

Are you sure the squeaking is coming from the rubber on glass? Try the wipers pulled away from windscreen although there may then be different forces on the linkage....

Have you OAC Perfection by any chance? A quick mist of that should do 2-4 weeks of improvement.

It's the linkage that's squeaking. Our old k11 micra had the same problem. There is a part that wears out in it. You'll have to replace or repair. I cleaned ours up and greased it up. Worked wonders until the nct feckers failed it. The replacement passed but squeaked!

If you want to check if it's the linkage then lift both up. Switch on wipers and silly a bit of pressure as they move back and forth, I.e. Try to slow them down. You sound great the squeaking then.

    Thanks everyone for your advice,

I didn't have any Gtechniq G1 Clear vision Smart Glass although it's something I intend to get for my other car.

I have OAC Perfection and I tried this and really hoped it would work...but it didn't.

I was 100% sure it was the rubber on the glass making the Squeaking,
Pulled the wiper arms up turned them on, applied a little resistance,
there was a little squeaking but not much and definitely not the same as when the arms were against the glass,
Wouldn't have gone any further but thought it was worth a try as TBi had the same problem,
I took them completely apart cleaned all the rubbers and the knuckle joints then greased all the joints, put it all back together.
The linkage that's squeaking ? no chance...but it was

Now I hope it lasts a month or two till he has the test passed and we can get rid.

    Thanks again.

OP you almost found the problem. The drivers wiper spindle nylon bushing is worn, causing the wiper to sit at the wrong angle on the screen. If you can push the wiper arm in towords the screen where it's hinged that's your problem. Nissans are notorious for it. We had it in every Nissan we had since '95. The cure was to replace the spindle or turn the radio up.....
