Match Summary - 2-0 United - We were fcuking SEPTIC!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,812 ✭✭✭thelad95

I'm absolutely delighted for Wilson, he looked dangerous all afternoon. It looked like an expression of relief on his face when he scored, maybe it was weighing down on him as he'd been getting lots of gametime with no end product.

Looked a lot better when we went 442, moved DiMaria into the CAM role, and worked the diamond.

Rooney was ****ing dire today. Just an utter joke of a preformance.

switch to 442, we create more chances, are more creative and get 2 goals in one half against QPR like it should be. With 352 or 532, nothing happens at all. Just 30 - 40 passes and then we lose possession with valencia smashing the ball at the legs of the defender. Hopefully LVG sees now how a back 4 and di maria in midfield is a lot better for the players we have

That was tedious, please LVG realize that 3-5-2 (5-3-2) doesn't work and won't. The switch to 4-4-2 saw us more stable at the back. I thought Rojo played well, Zamora didn't trouble us all that much. Hopefully with Rojo back that sees the end of Evans and the gormless Jones. Mata is too slight to be playing anywhere near the CM role. 3 points, not convincing lots for LVG to think about.

This formation and Rooney in midfield and Di Maria up front has to change.

Felliani again made a big difference to the team breaking up play and keeping it nice and simple going forward. Rooney was absolutely dire in midfield again.. I know we are repeating ourselves but hopefully that is the end on 352

Love Wilsons goal the amount of critisism he was getting on here, another average performance from Falcao.

Result will sedate most of us I think, the less said about that first half the better. Question marks over LVG now.

Rooney was awful. Stick him back up front already. Van Persie and Falcao are struggling to convert their chances. Surely 1 of them can find a bit of form.

Pretty awful performance overall. Hopefully Van Gaal ditches this 3-5-2 bollocks now.

Yep, I think Fellani won us that game.

Now if that doesn't show LVG that 3 at the back will not work then I actually don't know what will..

I thought Falcao did well, unlucky not to score a couple.

Love Rojo's physicality at the back, nice to see 2 players in the squad who don't allow themselves to be bullied. (Fellaini the other)

Thats that, hope lvg now see's that the 442 worked

I hope so but I wouldn't be confident of it, LVG is so stubborn it's not even funny anymore. He should be dragged out of OT by the hair if he continues to play that 3-5-2 rubbish. Not only do we not have the defensive players to play the system, but he is now playing our attacking players out of position! Unbelievable.

That first half was our worst this season. Shockingly  when we changed to 4 at the back almost every player looked more comfortable.

I thought Fellaini was a welcome addition and he did very well I felt.
Rooney was terrible, as was Mata but Rooney improved a bit in the 2nd half
I thought Daley Blind was one of our better players today. I really like him as a player and can't wait until he gets his shot at claiming a place in midfield
I thought Rojo did very well today, aside from the miscommunication with Carrick
Carrick had an ok game. Not great but definitely not bad.

Poor old Falcao. It looks like its not going to happen for him which is a shame but he might turn his form around over the coming games.

LVG needs to stop this bullsh1t 3 at the back formation. If he persists with it, we could well miss out on a top 4 spot and it could cost him his job.

Yep. I'd be more worried by Falcao if he wasn't getting into positions to score. He should have had 3 today. Keep playing him and he'll start putting thrm away.

I never thought I'd say this but Valencia actually plays the RB position better than Rafael at the minute.

Since it isn't on TV, I think I'll try to avoid updates until full time.

Could watch a stream but the thought of an immediate feeling of despair/elation when I check the result at 4:55 appeals to me.

    Woohoo!

I'm guessing it was a poor performance judging by the comments in here. I saw the word septic used.

The first half was just incredibly bad. I can't remember feeling as angry watching a Utd game before.

This is no better than what we were watching last season. Points total wouldn't bother me as much if it looked like things were picking up and the football was coming together but it's not. Predictable, limp, ineffective crap, week in week out, we are lucky there's so many poor teams in the league.

You're the luckiest man in this thread.

Falcao oozes class. Sure up his future, give him game time and watch the goals come flowing. Also, give the man a midfield behind him and we're laughing all the way to Europe.

hopefully Newcastle can salvage a draw

Ah come here lad, you are a lucky boy.. First half was among the worst I have ever seen from United.. We made this QPR look like a decent side .. Reverted back to 4 at the back and scored within about 5 minutes and more chances came.

We have 40 points . Can't be relegated now. We're safe

I echo this, he should've scored two, honestly he nearly could've gotten 4. I'd put money on him scoring the first two, but it's his positioning that makes it, he's always getting into those kinds of spots. I just hope he gets more game time, he'll score loads!

I really really want to know what the fúck was going through LVG's head when he decided that Phil Jones was the man to take the corners!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,084 ✭✭✭✭Kirby

    Falcao----Rooney

    Mata
    --Herrera/Fellaini----DiMaria----
    Carrick
    --Blind---Rojo
    Jones---Valencia

Best line up from those fit? I think that's the team. Forget about 3-5-2 for the moment.

Jones probably asked Van Gaal in training. Rooney and Carrick opened their mouths to protest but Van Gaal just shouted at them that they were slow, and that he hoped they wouldn't be that slow on matchday.
