Sacking Moyes put United back to square one. Even with all the money spent it meant starting from scratch for the 2nd time in 2 seasons. Was never going to work immediately. Just hope LVG can do something to allow this team to scrape into the CL places so it's not another year of building next season.

Falcao, Di Maria, Blind, Herrera, Mata, Fellaini?

    Not a great record?

Are you fúcking ****ting me??:confused::confused:

Man this place boggles the mind at times.

And are you actually using Fellaini and Mata as negatives?? What the ****, do you watch United games, we've been crying out for Fellaini the last month and Mata is the only person in the team offering any bit of creativity, I don't understand where you're coming from at all.

Ya, they've all been crap for the money spent on them. Falcao hasn't done enough to justify one week's wages never mind what he's earning here. Herrera can't get into the team. Mata wasn't even needed when we signed him. We can't fit all the players we signed into a proper team.

Like I said at the time we signed Falcao, it's just a crappy Galactico policy, rather than actually identifying and addressing needs in the team. Think if they just throw money at names, everything will be right.

Throw enough **** at a wall...

He gets way more correct than he does not and IMO probably one of the most reliable

    Who said that?

Paddy Crerand said Bobby Charton said it.

Absolutely shocking that Falcao was not on the bench today. Wilson hasn't scored a goal this season.

Two things I don't want to see unless we have no other option is the continuation of 352 and Rooney playing central midfield.

And he goes and does both, let's be honest, Van Gaal has been very poor for a while now. He has abandoned his philosophy, there is no attractive possession football, there's possession alright, but we do absolutely zilch with it.

Ferguson said it live on Sky Sports. One of the most ****ed up things I've heard related to the club in a long time.

Phil Jones should be playing for Stoke or Villa, not for Manchester United.

Realistically could that result focus minds in the transfer market .. Are we going to to play 3 at the back into the future? - what's the General consensus?

I remembered it as Bobby supposedly saying it. I remember Fergie saying he could be one of United's greats.

He has the physical attributes, he is lacking a brain however.

Lol at the people thinking the problem with our possession is the quality of the centre-backs.

    Honest question here.

How do United fans think moyes would have faired if he was given the money LVG was. I understand he might not have been able to attract di Maria or falcao but do you think he would be challenging for title/top4/ or was he genuinely never gonna be good enough??

Moyes takes so long in making moves in the transfer market,it'd be 2017 before we'd see the likes of Di Maria etc. at the club-he'd have to scout him for at least 2 dozen times first.

Transfers aside,he just never commanded the respect of the players,he was overwhelmed by the job and was never going to make a go of it.

Regardless of what happens with LVG, Moyes was never the right man. His tactics and mindset were not good enough for United and throwing money at the problem would have only been covering up massive flaws in his managerial style.

After today's game, I might have to dust off my Leverkusen 0-5 United DVD from last year to cheer me up

We will never know but it's clear a good few of the senior players never gave Moyes a chance. Honestly, I believe if Moyes had the money spent in the Summer and shipped out Rio/Vid/Evra and got his own players in, we could well be in a better position right now.

You'd have to think something has happened between Van Gaal and Falcao.

No your right, today we were good in possession generally including the lads at the back - it was higher up where the problems lied in creativity .. Too slow and predictable for a very good Saints defence.

Phil Jones is a shocking footballer, best player since Duncan Edwards my arse.

Back in 2011, he was heralded as the best young CB in the world.

That was including people like Hummels and Subotic.

He was probably asked to play in midfield.

Van Gaal implied he was being rested and will play the next game, strange though.

I wouldn't describe the possession as good. The midfield is the problem though, only exacerbated now by the formation.
