Having Aguero-Kane-Austin up front (as some probably have already) would allow you to have 4 premium mids and 2 premium defenders. If united get it together at the back I'd be looking at

    Panti
Terry Jones (rotate your third cheap defender)
    Hazard ADM Sanchez Silva (cheapie)
    Aguero Kane Austin

Usually after xmas, United start getting their act together and end up keeping more cleansheets. I'd like to see some analysis on comparison of:

United clean sheets pre xmas/United clean sheets post xmas for the last 4-5 years. Surely someone on here has done it already?? I'm looking at you iroced ;)

no idea what the average is gonna be, but happy enough with 46 with AdM and Sanchez to go. Sneaky BAPS from Terry and Trippier - every little helps

46 is the top 1k average so you're doing pretty well for now!

55 pts here with only Alexis to go.

Will follow the United game behind the couch...

I hate ESP. Austin, Kane, Silva, Costa and Taylor either dropped down or out of BPs when ESP was added.
What is it that you call ESP ? If it's the EA Sport PPI stuff it has nothing to do with the BPs update.

Is Costa really worth 5 million more than Austin?

    Austin 13 goals, 3 assists, 15 bonus.

    Costa 15 goals, 1 assist, 12 bonus.

5 million is a TON of money for upgrades.

The thing is if you go down the 5 premium mids route with Aguero Kane & Austin upfront you don't have any bench fodder and are going to face nightmares decisions week in week out to decide who you're gonna bench.

Since the expensive keepers & defenders are not really outscoring the cheapies, where would you spend these 5 mil?

Maybe the main advantage of holding onto Costa, aside the "blocker" aspect, will be to be able to afford Sturridge if he hits the ground running when back.

I've been going Kane, Austin, Costa while Aguero is out buy definitely going AKA soon. Been playing around with the WC and you can get some team out of it!

54 with Sanchez still to play.

That seems decent enough - should move up to just outside the 1m mark with that.

We'll all be chugging along in our Ford KAA.

(I didn't want to but felt I had to. I feel so much shame now after writing that)

48 with RVP, Sanchez and Di Maria to play.

Wildcard team has done me well :) 52pts with Sanchez and Alderweireld to play. Still bitter that Cahill was dropped and lost me 6pts :P

47 points with Sanchez to play, and 2 pts coming off the bench, should have been 7 as was sure made Wisdom first choice sub. Ah well, still think the 8pt hit was worth it.

Yeah but I suppose there's always people with Utd players out there to bump that average up.

I'm happy enough with it though.

38 with De Gea, Sanchez, Walcott and RVP to go. If only Dave could have waited til 60 to get injured I'd be happier but can't complain otherwise really.

Just have to trust my differentials now...

49 with Rooney and ADM to play, more important 8 behind in cup and he has Bertrand to play.

Yeh overall average has 4 players to play so still lots that can happen! Still be a nice big green arrow tonight though!

Any idea what these group of three strikers are Also Known As?

Wow. Couldn't have been much more wrong! Captain percentages today for Costa were madly disparate between those two groups.

I saw a post on FFS a while ago discussing clean sheets that the big teams have gotten over the past 10 years. I don't remember much of it quite frankly but I think it mentioned that the general perception that Chelsea tighten up a lot in the second half is not as true as people think. That may have to do with their different managers over the years as Mourinho looks like he is the master of killing teams off. No idea how United have fared with clean sheets in the second half of the season but I'd guess that they do a small bit better in the latter half.

I'm on 48 after baps so should stay around the same rank. Only Sanchez tomorrow so need ManU big guns to blank.

Down 6 places. Tomorrow could be bad.......

Jaysus Terry is some legend stealing Costa's 1 bp!

    51 with Sanchez to go.

50 with just Sanchez to go.

For the first time this season I started Boyd

I know I've done well value wise but I could do that team with Costa for Austin. Posted a very similar one in the Wildcard thread. Even with a lower value you'd be bound to have a couple of mil in the bank.

This is where Costa could become something of a differential. Depends how many top 10k lose Costa to get Aguero so they can keep the 4 big mids.

54 with just Sanchez left to play

    Up 9,000 places to 22,000

That's despite having Azpil and Haz as captain.

I dropped 13! Down to 758, Gameweek rank 390k. But. That's only based on 47 points, I have Downings 7 to sub in for Sterling which should insulate me somewhat tomorrow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 974 ✭✭✭internet_user

42 and down about 1k to 19k. only sanchez to go and naylors 2 points of the bench

Yeah, it's tough at the top. 25% benched Downing according to FPL Discovery so I'm probably further down to those with him as autosub. Another week of treading water barring ManU riot which I'd be perfectly happy with :)

45 points sees me drop 66 places. Hanging onto the top 4k by the skin of my teeth ;)

Down 2k places to 13k. Adm sonething of a differential tomorrow if he can do anything..

    Dropped 1.5k today to 6.3k

I'm not a fan of edging slowly in the wrong direction. I'm scared to check where I'd be if it was Terry rather than Dave I chose that crucial night in early December.
