    Smalling, Lingard, Jones, McNair, Fletcher?

McNair looked okay at RB on Sunday if you can ignore the opposition.

He would be my pick of the names listed above, given his match fitness is probably currently better than the rest.

According to Mark Ogden, Luke Shaw is available for Sunday and was taken off against Yeovil more as a precautionary measure. At least that's the left kind of sorted, hope Shaw can go an injury-free spell and get a proper run in the team now.

It'll be a game to contain the Saints and counter attack. Shocking injury list.

I reckon if we have a consistently fit 11 we'll see 4-3-3. He clearly doesn't want to use young and val as out and out fb's. If we could keep the likes of Jones shaw and raf fit I think we would play 4 at the back.

Do we have the players to play 433???. If you play DI Maria in the middle of the park then you have no one for the wing. If you play Di Maria on one of the wings then you have no pace in the middle of the park. Ideally we need two new wingers or a winger and a box to box midfielder to have the players for a 433.
Also I don't know if Carrick or Blind are aggressive enough for holding role. They are good on the ball but slow if a team counter attacks us

£30 million for Wilfred Bony, goal scorers really are golddust

Let's hope Falcao finds form soon

Mata his been sensational/almost perfect in his last game and a half, would be madness to drop him when he's finally starting to recapture his Chelsea form.

Not sure how much he can improve but I really like Saido Berahino. He's at least good enough for Spurs/Pool not sure if he's United quality though.

    No thanks.

Since his England callup, his ego absolutely exploded and he walks around the training ground like he's Pele. Seemingly his head has been totally turned by agents trying to secure his business by telling him how they can land him a big money move, and he's a future England star and should be getting massive wages.

And after returning from essentially an England training camp, his form went to ****, he stopped working hard and Irvine took the correct call in leaving him out. Take him out of the spotlight but also to let him know he still has to prove himself. Seemingly to got the hump from that also and went over the managers head and other stuff.

Seems like a prat, and the sort of English pre-madonna egotistical maniac I don't think the club needs.

If he does land a big move, I'd be disgusted as his behaviour has been nothing short of disgraceful.

I've thought he has been much better the last while. I'd personally put him in Rooney's role, and move Rooney up alongside Falcao and drop RVP.

I'd like Van Gaal to go 4-4-2 with that diamond, with Mata at the top, Carrick at the bottom, Di Maria left and Herrera right. Rooney and Falcao up top.

Shaw LB, Jones RB, Evans and Rojo in the middle. (Rojo is back I believe yes?) Even Smalling Evans as the centre back pairing.

Valencia and Young have been doing well as the WB's, and funny enough I think it hasn't being a total disaster because of them. With them out I feel we should move to a back 4.

He is the typical English player I despise, bags of ability and loses all desire to do anything with it as their self centred ego explodes. Lallana is another one who supposidly has turned into a Grade A dickhead since his England inclusion. a relatively quiet, nice hard working lad, who after his England callup turned into this massive prick who takes insult to anyone even tackling him.

Yeah I though the lack of celebration thing was very odd.

Could be a one off, he could be a prat, still a good player.

the funny thing is they are not some unique talent. There are tons of players like that out there.

Have little bursts of form and bag a few goals for lower table/league sides, can't get any run of consistency and then fade away. And it's normally because they reach some milestone or personal goal, and can't be arsed to do anything after that.

Just look at the media crazy over the following in the UK, Wellbeck, Austin, Ings and Berahino, probably one or two more I'm forgetting. All have rising reputations while funnily not really having the goal scoring merits to back it up. Little bursts here and there for form.

It's when I look at the likes of that, I really hold appreciation for Rooney. This week I was reading how Gerrard should be praised as the only England youth prospect that actually amounted to his potential, I'd argue that Rooney is the real leading light in that department. While he might not have reached the dizzy heights I expected, he still has one of the most impressive goal tallies in Europes and plenty of trophies to boot.

His lack of celebration was in some outragous public protest at his dissatisfaction at the club and how he wants to leave to "reported big club interest". Good West Brom commentators are indicating his head is totally turned, and he's getting advise like not celebrate goals and force the club to cash in on you.

While there is an arguement he bagged four goals against Gateshed or whoever they were playing, look how our lads celebrated scoring against Yeovil.

I'd imagine Pulis is playing pretty in public and will quickly cash in on him to fund the improvements he wants to buy. 25m for a player who will probably end up being a dissapointment is sound business.

Very harsh on some players, Welbeck has a great record for England and brings more than just goal, hardly hyped outside a certain group of United fans.

Austin has banged goals in at every level similarly to Lambert, obviously still has to prove he can do it consistently in in the PL.

Ings has only had one great season really, dont think anyone has hyped him up ?

In the UK media, there is extraordinary hype imo. Plenty of the Sky pundits laud over these lads, and plenty of newspaper journalists too.

Wellbeck has 4 league goals this term. 16m is brilliant business to be shot of him.

Ings, 5 goals in 19 appearances.

Actually I'm being overly harsh on Austin. I guess he just "appears" the sort of player that might be a one hit wonder sort of thing.

Wellbeck being good for England has no correlation to Arsenal in reality. His return has been dire for them. Ings has plenty of supporters for an England callup. Austin actually probably merits it. But if an England squad was announced this week I'd imagine KAne would get in ahead of him.

Probably having some Tuesday frustrations. By now I've gone through all my podcasts, and there was plenty of over hyped garbage surrounding Wellbeck, Ings and Berahino that's obviously had me seething all day.
