Novell Restore to Windows

Have some old DDS 1 tapes from 1995 and want to restore it. It was probably backed up on Novell my guess is using Arvserve. It comes up a unrecognised media in NT Backup / Windows 200 backup (well I was not expecting that to work). But it also does this in Arcserve 6.61 and Backup Exec 8 - both of which are supposed to…

But it also does this in Arcserve 6.61 and Backup Exec 8 - both of which are supposed to read Arcserve 4 tapes...

Am currently working my way through all the DDS drives in case it is hardware compression..

Any ideas ? - has anyone restored before this way ?
