What are my options?

    Hi folks,

Was wondering if anyone could help me.

Currently in my apartment we are connected with UPC Broadband, 44 Euro per month, and we are quite happy with it. Granted, for some reason we cannot get any internet down in the bedroom, but secretly I am pleased with that.

My contract with UPC is up in March. We are moving from the country in August.

I really don't want to get back into a 12 month contract (my OH and I both need internet as a necessity for work).

What is the strongest mobile internet (hotspot?) option? Or even pay monthly option?

I know some mobile networks offer a dongle service, but how reliable are they?

Any advice at all would be most welcome.

    Thanks a million,

    Gareth

You could use a network extender to get coverage in the bedroom. You don't automatically get another year contract I march, you go month by month unless you upgrade/downgrade.

    That's great Colm, cheers.

As I said, not too pushed about the lack of Internet in bedroom - it's in my life too much as it is, so a good book will reign there.

As for going on a monthly by monthly basis with UPC - shall I mention that to them. Reason I ask is, I know they'll be mad to get me to sign up for another 12 months...are they obliged to let me go on monthly as long as I don't agree to any changes?

Just don't make any changes and you'll be grand.
