Colour coded trim

Looking at quite a few cars online and many seem that the colour coded bumpers in photos appear a shade off colour wise.
Is this a thing with the colour trim and metal bodywork ageing slightly different or what.

Seems very common to see.

Could just be in the photos it looks like that, cos the car is metal and the trim is usually plastic. One is usually more reflective than the other (the metal) which could make the trim appear duller or such in nature in a photograph.

I'm just guessing though.

Check the photos on this Mondeo.
One in particular looks like the trim is poorly coloured.

After 5 years if unpainted would trim still be the same colour as general paintwork.

Quite often they get a respray to repair scuffs at the corners.

Part of the rear of that mondeo looks a different shade alright from the lights down to the bumper.

Mondeos in particular have that problem, with the bumpers looking a tad different to the metal body. It's to do with the adhesion of the paint onto different services. You'll see the same on lots of other mondeos, particularly lighter colours.

The back bumper certainly had paintwork.
