    Sure, I always give benefit of the doubt to posters, until they establish a pattern of using the same dishonest tactics/arguments, that have been pointed out to them very clearly and often dozens of times.

    The exception, where I am less likely to give benefit of the doubt, is for posters who look suspiciously like a common rereg (or reregs), who troll the same type of threads (where the proof of the dishonestly, is usually shown in their eventual ban for trolling) - rereg trolling is just a more blatant example of the same type of tactics, except the poster is happy to step over the line instead of just constantly toeing it, since they're not worried about a ban.

    Interestingly, often you see the rereg trolls who keep getting banned, paired with the posters who use the dishonest tactics this thread is about - sharing support/thanks among each other.
