server hosting

    Might not be the right place so feel free to move if there is somewhere more appropriate.

    So I am looking to get a minecraft server a mount and blade server and a team speak server.
    Looking for recommendations please as there is so much out there. Its tough trying to wade through it all.
    I have had a few suggestions like realms for minecraft but just wanted some opinions first.
    Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

    if you're technically minded and like messing aboot with computers, eh? I'd recommend a dedicated server.

    Thanks for the reply. I hope to do this down the line but for ease of use and the fact I need it working on Xmas morning I'll be renting for a month or two.

    Suppose it also depends on the traffic and size of the world you want to host.

    Few friends who are into minecraft, one of the lads just hosts the world for when they play from his machine. I wouldn't say he has an overly powerful machine, but minecraft doesn't look to be that intensive at all.

    Wonder if a Raspberry pi would do the trick.

    Minecraft is one of the most intensive to run servers out there. It requires an obscene amount of ram and disk IO.

    A Raspberry Pi might run a vanilla server for one or two people. If you want to add server mods though you are gonna run into problems.
