Thanks. Hopefully go sub 17 at Jingle Bells. Great to see the numbers getting bigger at Tymon. I have great time for the two older lads who finished top five. Hope I'm going as good at that age.

I think you meant top 6. The top 5 had only one older lad, plus one magnificent specimen of mature manhood :)

    Today 12.13 miles @7.02 m/m.
    http://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/643661706

Little PB spent a week in Hospital since my last post. Thankfully he is home again and doing well. Been sick myself since about Thursday. Going between work and hospital and worrying about little PB and Mrs PB has my immune system pretty run down. Got in about four runs last week. These were clear the head type of runs rather than having to go for a run runs.

Still not happy with my left knee. Hope to still run Jingle Bells on Saturday all things being well.

Good to hear the little lad is doing well. Take care of yourself and the family and enjoy JB at weekend.

Ran the Jingle Bells in 17.14 (chip time). My watch had the time a couple of seconds quicker. Bumped into Yaboya1 beforehand and had a quick chat. As I lined up for start, I spotted another couple of boards luminaries, AuldManKing (will say hello next time) and Pconn. Knew the latter was going for sub 17 (or I suspected) so planned to tail him. Was struggling after a K (still not recovered from recent illness) while Pconn seemed to be hard on the bit. Lacked an extra gear in last mile as Pconn pulled further away.

Very happy with how I raced today. Have got used to not looking at watch in Parkruns and focusing on effort. My effort was A1 but the time was a tad disappointing as I was sure I'd go sub 17. Met Pconn after and he looked like he was ready to do another 5K at that pace. Very impressive running!

Very well organised race by Donore. This was my first ever 5k in 2012 (17.30). I hope to be back for many more.

    Good run paddy.
I was looking around for you afterwards to see how you did, but I couldn't find you anywhere.

Is this your tactic in all 5k races/timed runs?? :P

Had to race back to meet Mrs PB and little PB as the former was kind enough to give me a spin over.

That's my tactic alright, I was looking around for you at the start. Pconn was a more than adequate substitute:)

Great running paddybarry and nice to meet you, you have a much faster 5k in you than that. We'll both be back next year and way under 17 hopefully!

Knee felt great on this run. Have been doing plenty of hamstring stretches but more importantly have changed to a neutral runner (Brooks Ghost). I wear orthotics and Dr. Google has told me I should be wearing this type of runner. Fingers cross, it does the trick.

Have entered Ballycotton 10, that's the goal race for Q1. Might do Raheny 5 aswell. Other than that, I'll be doing Parkruns on a regular basis.

You must have a park run loyalty card at this stage :)

I'm very lucky as Tymon and Marley are very near where I live. It's so much easier to hit decent paces with company than trying to flog away on your own. Tymon is a great workout as it's quite a tough 5k.

Have you set your target for Ballycotton yet other than to come home with one of the coveted T-Shirts;)
