FFS, I despair :( Unfollowing. I hate the way a pure interesting thread on AH, that yesterday didn't devolve even once into abuse, goes full circle and starts all over again. Haven't the energy. Yesterday's discussion was good though, even if we didn't all agree. Fair play. Over and out.

Why are people thinking up stupid unrelated scenarios to compare to a woman breastfeeding? Farting, scratching your balls, belching is bad manners. Feeding your baby is nothing to do with manners. Babies need to eat, just like you need to eat.

    This is the perfect post

what I marked in Bold , Many cultures and individuals will disagree with you.

What you find offensive or bad manners others dont. It doesnt make you a dick for what you believe.

People are stating here the A. They feel uncomfortable or offended by people breastfeeding and B. Others don't see an issue.

But that doesnt make anyone wrong in their thoughts

Because we are eating in a restaurant and I am eating from a plate and using a spoon. My parts are not on display.

Damn our under-developed newborns! Imagine being born without knowing how to use a spoon, and digest solid food! Wimps! I'd say you were born with a steak-knife in your hand!

Both "natural" functions, both things I shouldn't have to look at in public.

So how do you manage life avoiding looking at eating?

Sorry but somebody with their breasts out in front of me is uncomfortable. Yes I can turn my neck, but I shouldn't have to have it in my line of vision.

Who would have their breasts out in front of you? Have you seen a breastfeeding mother in real life?

Yes, neck turning can be awfully hard and time consuming. Selfish mothers, making you turn your head just so they can feed their children.

God will you all get over this, It should not be on display, go somewhere else. It would take 2 minutes and you wouldn't make others uncomfortable eating their meal. They don't have children, It is not their child. Let them eat in peace without screaming babies and lactating tits out over the table.

I actually find this thread very interesting as its AH and its a true debate from people who frequent all over the different forums.

Did you not see the photos I posted? You really DON'T see a lot of breast when a woman is breastfeeding.

Have you considered a career in FOX "News"?

It takes 2 minutes? It usually takes at least 15 minutes to feed a baby.

Yes, I am a mother. I have breastfed before. I done it at home because I'm considerate, what's the big deal, do it somewhere private.

Did you walk around with your boobs hanging out all over the place when you did it? Most women who breastfeed don't, including those who do so in public.

That's your choice. Others have as much right to exercise their choice not to "do it somewhere private"

2 minutes to stand up and move instead of 15 minutes of me looking down at the table, shifting in my chair, I mean sometimes it's right in front of you, in your line of vision. Just don't see why it is 100% necessary.

And I have a right to voice my opinion. That's all that's going on here.

It actually appears to be just one group of mothers from another forum pushing one opinion, and the mods banning anyone with a different opinion.

I'm sure some are more discreet than others, point is don't see why It has to happen in a restaurant at all.

Not all the contributors are mothers, I'm not.

I'm a regular reader of AH and poster on here. You'd swear that people who don't want to banish breastfeeders are organising some sort of boards wide conspiracy.

Because nursing mothers are allowed to have a social life as well?

    MOD

If you have a problem with Mod actions take it to Cmods, Help desk or feedback. This isn't the place for it

    Back on topic please

Because the baby is hungry presumably. Women shouldn't have to stay at home in case their baby gets hungry to satisfy the whims of certain people.

    But you can't see anything!

Like I posted above, some are more discreet than others. Like I'm not making this up, some women have the whole thing out and don't care about anybody around them, It makes me uncomfortable, that's all. It's a beautiful thing blah blah I know, just would prefer if it was done behind a door that's all.

No just leave the table, no one told them to go home.

My baby won't take a bottle. If I don't feed her she will scream. Aside from that I'm not going to let her starve. So it is 100% necessary.

Also where do you expect a mother to go feed? Do not suggest the bathroom. For a variety of reasons they aren't suitable.

Why , would you prefer mothers to go sit in a stinky toilet cubicle to feed?? If so, next time you're doing some fine dining head off to the nearest toilet cubicle to eat - enjoy!!
