    Went ahead and ordered.
Never had the Wii (as it didn't have hdmi) so looking forward to playing all the games I've missed such as the Mario galaxy games, skyward sword, and so on.

How do the original Wii games look on a hdtv?

    Pretty much the same.

If you can somehow pick up the hard to get Xenoblade Chronicles then buy it.

As someone who already has a Wii what extra do I get from the Wii U?

Great new games in HD, off TV play via gamepad and also ps/xbix style regular controller and all the Wii stuff is compatible. I playback lot of classic Nintendo stuff like metroid, castlevania and Zelda on the gamepad during doc mcstuffins and Nashville.

I'm very tempted now to pick up one of these after reading some of the reviews on Amazon.

Was it always a pre-order item? Or has it just changed I could have sworn I was able to order it a few days ago

And has anyone seen a similar price/bundle elsewhere?

This deal seems to have sold out now.

They've removed the price but not for the basic or smash bros editions.

In case anyone prefers to go with an Irish company, Smyths are doing the Wii U pack with free Super Mario bros game for €219.99 at the moment

Would give the strongest recommendation to get one of these if anyone is debating it.

It's a great machine with tonnes of Nintendo exclusives. I've also barely turned my PS3 on in the last 6 months due to playing nearly exclusively on the Wii U

Just got an email saying it's been pushed back and delivery estimate is now 17th December.

    Not a good sign...

Does this mean that Amazon will get it by December 17th or it will be delivered to customers by December 17th?

That's assuming UK delivery times, Irish delivery takes a few days longer if you went for super saver.

in my experience when these things start getting pushed back they usually end up being cancelled.

Absolute joke by Nintendo/Amazon at this time of year

If they cancel I will demand they honor the bundle by ordering everything seperately and getting it discounted to £200.

I ordered some stuff on super saver and it was only dispatched today, well over a week later.

Amazon are nowhere near as good as they used to be.
Like the poster above I'm going to raise hell if they cancel the Wii U bundles before Christmas

Could be something got to do with it being the busiest time of the year for online retail? The volume moving through the supply chain is crazy at the moment.
