Thanks for reply, I've been talking to them on the phone and I wanted to call over but they said they didn't let people call as they dont have a showroom which I thought was a bit fishy.

I wouldn't imagine that they are fraudsters. It seems from looking at their site that they don't have a showroom.
They are really just agents who purchase a car on your behalf and deliver it to your address.
They are registered with the companies office in the UK.
I'd guess that the accountant's office mentioned already is where they have their registered address.

I'd look for reviews on google.co.uk if I were interested in using them.

If you sent someone to my company's address, you would see my accountants name on the door. Same for thousands of companies.

You need to dig a lot deeper to get a proper look. Thankfully google is your friend.

Company set up in 2008, but website only set up in August.

What would be worrying is there are absolutely no reviews good or bad about them. the website was only registered a couple of months ago and the directors who set the company up in 2008 resigned in June and October and have not yet been replaced - which would be disconcerting.

From informaton available, it would not be a place I'd be happy to deal with.

Had another search RECOVEREDCARAUCTIONS seem to be only advertising on Gumtree.ie and Buyandsell.ie - seem to be targeting Irsh buyers with very cheap prices.

    No adverts on UK websites.

No saying anything, but i'd be VERY VERY wary of them.

One known scam is to buy a small company that has been trading for a few years and which has made proper returns and use this to obtain credibility, but effectively use it as a vehicle to scam people. Not saying this is what is happening here, but prices are simply far far too good to be true. Directors have resigned and no new directors appointed. No cash on balance sheet. Company technically insolvent too.

and the good news is free rust with every car, what people dont realize is nuts and bolts are welded together and removing things can be more expensive.

On Neil Prendeville on Cork's Red FM a guy had dealings with this "company" he said that he had called them and looked at their website/online auction and was interested in an Audi A1. He was told that they would sort out the shipping for £300 and a website fee of £150 and it would be delivered to his door. He sent off his ID to them and he got the car history checked.
So, he then transtered 5,800 euro which I believe was the total cost of the Audi A1 which to me is suspiciously cheap.
And guess what, ever since he has had no correspondence from them, phone lines aren't answered
He went to bank of Ireland who said that the money was transferred to a company bank account named "trade direct auctions limited"

Update: just finished listening to the Neil Prendeville podcast

    Surprise Surprise it's a Fraud

The guy was informed by the UK police that they have had other complaints by over seas buyers.

Strangely though, the Fraud Action UK cannot take down their website

Possibly this should be moved to Motors to forewarn anyone there?
