can mobile broadband sticks receive texts?

    if you place the sim in can they receive texts on your pc?

    Yes. I seem to remember that the application that came with those mobile sticks in Windows had some sort of application for it. And here is a website talking about doing it in a raspberry pi using a terminal. Might depend on the brand though, the only ones I've ever used were re-badged Huawei.

    the reason is i have multiple sim cards that in eed to verifiy, so i could jsut take them out and in with no problems, would it work in any country?

    Is there any simpler way than the above method that will allow you to receive texts opp the modem?

    What model is the broadband modem that you are using ? Most of them can be accessed by typing http://192.168.1.1 into the address bar at the top of a browser . If it's a plug in usb stick it may be different to access them but it's defo possible I used to get texts on my plug in USB modem .

    My current one is a wifi one and if I type http://192.168.1.1 into the address bar it will bring up the modem dashboard where I can see signal levels texts and settings.
