security license question

    Hi all,

    I did a Fetac level 5 in security studies in 2010/11 and never applied for my psa license.

    I had a job for a few years in a non security environment but I've decided recently that I'd like to take a career change and have a try in the security industry for a while.


    My question is will my college cert entitle me to just pay the license fee and then recieve iit?

    Or will I have to do a course all over again in order to get one (college cert is 3 years old at this stage)

    Anyone?? Got calls about jobs but I need to minimum have applied for it!!

    I know that, thanks, I'm just wondering will my college cert from 2010/2011 be valid instead of doing a 3 day course or similar in order to get the license? It's hardly a case of paying the fee and giving the license these days is it?

    Why not call them or e-mail them to find out?
    I've barely heard anything from any security company, the last interview I had for a position in the industry was in September.. days after applying for a licence.
    Count yourself lucky, I guess.. or count yourself Irish, hah.
