I use currency fair for dollar transactions, but not as a trading platform? They are a little more work than transferring straight to account, but a lot cheaper if you are transfering a large amount.

I just tried to transfer GBP from CurrencyFair to TD this week but hit a snag...

TD do not accept bank transfers from a 3rd party (or so they told me).. This includes CurrencyFair. so when I tried to bank transfer through CurrencyFair it was sent back. Frustrating as I went through the sign up process with CurrencyFair & now have GBP sitting with them.

I'd be interested to hear if anyone else had the same experience / ideas how to transfer to TD in GBP/USD and minimising the FX charge?

Ah yes, what I did was open a dollar account with Ulsterbank, you can transfer into that and from that to your TD account-They also obviously do STG holding accounts....

Has anybody opened a US dollar account with PTSB and transferred money from it to TD. I opened the USD account but was told they couldn't do the transfer. They have to convert it to euro first which very much defeats the purpose....
