Bit more like a test match this half.

    Doesn't look grounded

    Never-ending scrum

Joubert made an absolute meal of that.

There was a penalty to Australia in one of those scrums.

Another narrow Welsh loss to Australia would be hilarious.

Good game all in all. Welsh will be sickened with the narrow defeat but they looked good in large parts of the game. Just bad decisions made and some individual errors done em in.

Poor play by North at the very end there, don't know what he was thinking.

    Wasn't a bad guess then ;)

Just got around to watching this game. We can't give Australia any loose ball, but their defence is there for the taking. Should be an interesting game.

The most important thing is to keep the ball out of Kuridrani's hands. He has to be the most lethal 13 in the world right now.

Australia are having massive issues around the ruck both in attack and defense. They are really failing to protect the ruck. A real area for Ireland to target.

I still think their forward pack is pretty crap. Slipper & Hooper about the only really decent ones. On the other hand I thought lealiifano & kurindrani + Folau were excellent. If they had cummins it would be pretty much a top class unit. Foley has proven to be better than I expected.

The policy to persist with Carter and Simmons is lunacy at this stage. I can't think of one good performance from them recently. Horwill is not a solution either. Should really give Luke Jones a shot, he can't do worse than them three.

Kepu is not too bad, does a decent job in the scrum and around the park. And to be fair Fainga'a is the 5th or 6th choice hooker so the weakness there is understandable.

Any chance of Mitchell, Giteau and Douglas joining O Connor and trying to make the World Cup squad?

Giteau was asked yesterday if he would go bavj, to Aus, he said he hasn't been asked and he's very happy in France, so unless something drastic changes, I'd say he's not going to the WC

Would be a great test for Henshaw if he starts at 13. Not sure it's one he's totally ready for in terms of positioning, but he will learn a huge amount in games like this

Definitely agree on the Aus defence. If Schmidt is looking purely for the win he might play it a bit conservative, but I hope he looks to expand the backline play a bit. It's a game against top opposition but with minimal pressure or potential negative consequences, you aren't going to get many more of those ahead of the World Cup, I'd love to see them try and play a fast open game

Douglas was asked after Cheika was appointed would he go back, and he said he made his choice and would see out his contract with Leinster.
