Why don't you lurk in the thread that has been set up to discuss new rules for this thread?

Well your not the only one. I usually only guess if I have a reasonable idea that I may be correct. Having said that, sometimes when i,ve known the answer, by the time i,ve checked on google maps, somebody else has beaten me in posting.

West of the Shannon is all I'm saying

    nope

Ok If it's west of the Shannon that narrows it down a good bit because we are dealing with a town with a railway I am pretty sure. I don't believe this town is on the Galway line because I travel that every day and I don't recognise it.

So I am going to take a stab at these 3 towns:
    1. Ballyhaunis
    2. Westport
    3. Boyle

I think in the original incarnation of this thread the rules said aerial views were allowed, so I am going to try one to see how it goes. If people prefer to keep it to StreetView or any other issues let me know and I'll post a different image.
