It thought that too. It would be a pretty weak plot point if it turns out to be true. The main door is pretty solid but the windows only have wooden shutters and glass. It would be pretty easy to break those if desperate.

We cant be sure how many civilians were trying to get into the church. It may only have been a few and they may have been under attack at the same time. But given that he is a priest and his nature he would feel remorse for letting even a few die.

I think its good sub-plot and gives the character a brief background.

Ok I know the Pries was in the wire but pardon my ignorance who were the other two?

I had to google it too.

Lawrence Gilliard Jr. as D’Angelo Barksdale
    dangelo.jpg?w=680&h=450&crop=1
Gilliard made brief appearances in a number of television programs, including “Law & Order: Criminal Intent,” “Friday Night Lights,” “Southland” and “Army Wives,” before settling in as Bob Stookey on “The Walking Dead.” It’s unclear how long he’ll stick around, as he lost part of his leg to cannibals in Sunday night’s episode.

Chad Coleman as Dennis “Cutty” Wise
    cutty.jpg?w=680&h=450&crop=1
Coleman’s used to playing the tough guy, whether it’s as reformed felon “Cutty” (left) or zombie slayer Tyreese on “The Walking Dead.”
    Photo: Everett Collection; Gene Page/AMC
Coleman currently stars alongside former “Wire” co-stars Gilliam and Gilliard as Tyreese Williams on “The Walking Dead.”

I thought Bob was bitten too! Why else was he limping and crying at the end before he gets taken away

Really enjoyed the episode, although like others a part of me wishes I hadn't of read the comics, as it made the ending less "WTF?!?!" for me, I literally just went "Ah, I wonder if this is going to play out the same was as the comics" while my wife, who hasn't reached that part of the comics yet, had the full "WTF?!?!" reaction.

i think its safe to say that bob was definitely bitten and was heading out to maybe off himself before the turn. the sweet delicious man that he is :pac:

i enjoyed the episode, cant wait to see that priest get killed, awful whimpering annoying fcukface.

When they got to the place where the zombies were in the hole, why the hell did they all climb into the hole.

It was a proper shooting fish in a barrel scenario, but instead they got in and put themselves in danger.

    weird writing.

The hole was the basement, and it's where all the food they trollied out after was stored. It was on the shelves that they used to block the walkers.

lol they ate his leg and mad him watch

Seriously though, he was definitely bitten. Since everyone is infected it'll be interesting to see if them eating his leg will affect them in any way. I don't think it will, unless they didn't cook him right and die from a seriously severe dose of food poisoning.

I know, but there was still absolutely no reason for them to go down there to kill the Zs, they could have done it from a safe distance then got down to get the food at a nice leisurely pace.

It was completely stupid to go down while the Zs were still there, when it would have been easier, safer and less stupid to kill them first, then get the food.

Yep, it was a bit odd that they just didn't do a bit of stabby stabby to the Z's from above. But i'm sure there is some risk in that if they grab a hold of you and drag you down.
They probably didn't shoot to conserve ammo.

I dunno it looked like it was a bit of a reach and they only seemed to have short enough blades. Shooting would have been stupid because it could have drawn more walkers or even worse, other survivors.

It looked to me like an excellent situation for the use of a pointed stick, or even a knife or similar stabby thing duct taped to the end of a brush handle; stab zombies in the head from above at a safe distance.

    In Z Nation
they keep the people alive and cut off pieces as needed. This stops them getting infected.

It begs the question why the Terminus butchers took the risk of bashing people over the head and then slitting their throats instead of stabbing them in the head? There was a good chance they could've turned. Look how quickly Shane turned. It was a great scene tension/gore wise but the more I think about it, the more it annoys me :o

Enjoyable enough episode. No doubt that Bob was bitten, the last scene he had with yer wan, when he pulled her back for a second kiss, pretty clear at that point never mind when he broke down outside.

Who was watching Darryl and Carol at the beginning?

Was Carol going to do a runner?

Was the priest boning a dorky white girl?

Will the cannibals catch cooties from Bob?

    Lots of stuff going on.

    Sweet!

    ends up legless

Things got awfully close to the comics this week so I'll have to go full spoiler block again:
So Bob gets to be tainted meat! Was giddy as hell the minute I saw him leave the church, knew exactly what was coming but in the end they really ballsed up the scene. The "tainted meat" rant hasn't been omitted, it'll definitely come next week surely but by ending the episode with Bob in tears and shocked they've really pissed on the impact of said moment. Had the episode finished with Bob shifting to laughter it would've paid great service to readers and a great WTF for viewers.

Also for anyone speculating that Bob was bitten on the leg and has maybe been been inadvertently saved by the Fine Young Cannibals (brilliant!) I doubt it. It's TV he'll have to have a bite on his arm/chest to show them to prove he's tainted. Didn't Dale do the same in the comic?

Once again, kudos Mr Gimple. Yes this was a slow down from last week, it was always going to be. But in my opinion all the talk was more relevant and interesting than it has ever been on TWD, there was great fan service to comic readers and maaaan, take a bow KNB, the walkers are simply spectacular this season thus far.

Overall it was alright but they insist on writing cheesy pointless dialogue. It's way too late in the series for that. They have made most of Rick's squeaky clean posse pretty unlikeable (Carl, Michone, Bob, Bob's bird, Tyreese). Would be glad to see the back of all of them at this point!

Loved last week and this was decent enough so I'll stick with it for the moment.

Its a funny show this. I think Rick is the only character that I like.

Daryl has fewer lines this season than T-Dog got in Season 1.

The group is far too big, hard to give everyone screen time and lines.

I think we'll start to see a bit of a cull now :)

Following on from a discussion on the Episode 1 thread, a point was raised that the mullet man had something to tell Rick and the gang.
It was thought that it was that they didn't know about the mission to Washington. But that was cleared up last night that they all know about it. But it was also alluded that there was still something else that they are not telling Rick and the Posse.
I think I mentioned that it might be something to do with the baby, but in the context of Ep 2, it was maybe something about Michonne??

Or am I barking up the wrong bush on this?

I think they were referring to michonne for what she did, i.e. kill the zombie.. her and the rest are NB in helping them kill/get to DC.. without them they won't survive and thats why they're holding off telling them something... which i think is about the baby! bc if rick ect. knew she'd die or something they wouldn't help or go to DC?

I'd imagine one or even two might go in the next couple of weeks - you simply can't sustain the public's interest in a particular character if they get no screen time - Maggie, Rosita, even Carl have had little to no screen time the first two episodes, (the girls especially) so I hope we see more of them in the next couple of episodes or I think they are in danger.

Apart from that, the actors themselves would probably get pi**ed off at turning up to set every day for little more than two lines of dialogue and looking moody in the background in every episode, (like they did with T-Dog, who had the potential to be a much better/bigger character).

Having read the comics your post spoiled nothing for me personally but may have done for others hence my comment. It is not my fault you have no thought for others whilst posting with your knowledge of the comics plain to see. Maybe I'm mistaken and comic knowledge is allowed in these tv episode threads and not considered to be spoilers??

Anyhow, you were right and quick to edit your post to include spoiler tags after my comment or maybe a mod did it. Regardless of that, did it really take you two days to formulate your 'comeback'. Nice one brother, have a biscuit.
