I want to lock down the LAN ports on my Eircom Zyxel D1000 router so that only my lappy can access the internet.

I have looked in the settings but can't see how it can be easily accomplished. Anyone any ideas?

I've never tried to block actual LAN ports (cant see any need) but I did block and time limit Kids access on the Wifi network.

Its been a while and I no longer use the D1000 but you could try adding your Mac address at the Network settings/Wifi/Mac authentication screen

Where it says 'MAC restrict mode' click on the allow dot
Then click 'Add new mac address' and enter your Mac address
    Click Apply.

Also at the 'Parental Filtering' screen you could create a custom profile to allow access to just your Mac address .
