I thought this evening slowdown thing has a thing of the past with dsl but apparently not.
I average 80meg down during the day and its great but after 8pm it seems to drop completely to the point where a 360p youtube video keeps buffering.

Anyone else on efibre experiencing this? It seems to only have started in the last few weeks.

I've noticed this too, there was definitely a backhaul issue with efibre a few weeks back but its mostly sorted, apart from youtube that is. Last night for example I had a half dozen youtube 720p vids buffering constantly. Other video sites were fine, as were speed tests, ftp downloads etc. But then one or two random youtube vids would stream fine. I think its something to do with how youtube serves videos to Ireland - something somewhere is going wrong.

I'm having problems in the evenings for the last couple of nights. Seems to happen mainly with Twitch.tv. I can't watch anything other than medium quality or else the video buffers every 3 seconds or else the video just won't load at all. It's strange as I can load a VPN and watch with zero problems but when I switch back to my normal connection, it goes back to being terrible. This happens for all devices on my network too.

I have no problems anywhere else with Netflix, YouTube or Steam etc; Pretty annoying as it seems to clear up after peak hours at around 11.30 or midnight. Anyone else have similar problems on eFibre?

Yes, Having these problems pretty much all the time, going through a vpn works, just tested uploading to twitch there and its ****e, upload through a vpn and its perfect, also tried hitbox streaming and the same thing, performance is better through a vpn, though I need to get the ping down so going through a vpn isn't the best solution, that and i would need to pay for a better vpn for more bandwith and why would i do that when i should be getting this service! It seems like obvious throttling? speedtest.net shows 50 mb down and 20 up. Have been putting off customer support as I cannot bare talking to them. Has anyone had a solution from eircom or a non bull**** answer from them?

I joined eFibre a few days ago on the 18 month contract. I have noticed from sveral random speedtests, that the download speed is all over the place, sometimes 30+ and then 5 mins later it dips under 5. Yesterday i even got less than 1 on the speedtest.
