Since the 3rd Sept a new firmware update has been rolled out for the eircom DSL D1000 modem, up to 100,000 have automatically been updated so far, BUT - it can take from 10 minutes to half an hour depending on the line for the modem to update , during the update all the lights on the modem will flicker erratically , it is very important that the modem is not powered off or line disconnected during the upgrade cycle , as this can lead to lockout , when the update is complete , the modem will return to normal.

People who are not aware of the update have been powering off and disconnecting the modem, when they see all lights flashing and loss of internet during the upgrade, thinking the modem has gone faulty and as a result have been locked out by the modem

Please pass this on and let people know...

    ^^^
Can it be downloaded anywhere if you are using a D1000 modem but are not with Eircom?
