Best of Luck on Sunday. Take it easy over there keep off the feet
Will be rooted to the live tracker.
    a) I Reckon 2:51/2:53 is where you realistically are at.
    b) if for some unforeseen reason the wheels come off and you find sub 3 slipping away, pull up you will have tons of time to get back on track for Dublin.

This is my first attempt at a training log so please go easy on me!

I've run three previous marathons (3:39, 3:35, 3:34). The aim in Seville is to finally go below 3:30. I've had various things go wrong on me in all of the above, so I think my target is pretty achievable.

This is your 1st log entry Yaboya.
When things get tough in Berlin, just think how far you've come since then.

No luck needed, don't be complacent, its not going to be handed to you - grind it out at the end.

(I'll be lining up my next 12 months to take a pop at your records, so make it a quick one :) ......)

By the way, was the intention always to drop the HADD training after the base building phase? I was really enjoying that slow journey. It was a really interesting experiment.

Good luck, lad. Funny to think that up to about 3 months ago we were at similar levels from 10k to marathon. Now you're tearing off into the distance. Enjoy and don't go overboard (during the race, I mean).

Leave a bit for the coming years.

    Friday 25th September (Day 54/56) - Rest

    Logging another rest day :pac:
As mentioned yesterday, I dropped today's scheduled recovery miles and spent the whole morning glued to the golf instead. I'm now around 90 minutes away from my flight's departure. I'll try to keep this updated over the weekend, but if I can't I'm sure someone else will. My bib number on Sunday is 8361.

Thank you for all the support. Once again I'm overwhelmed by all the messages I've received. Anything can happen on the day, but I can assure you all I'll be doing my very best.

    Auf Wiedersehen! :)

Best of luck, put the foot to the floor and you will have the day for watching the golf!

Thanks. I'll give it my best shot. Golf looks like it could down to the wire again if this morning is anything to go by.

Thanks TbL. I weighed myself this morning after our conversation the other night. 10'7 - haven't been this light since I was 12!

I peaked at 55 miles for Seville using a P&D plan. I'm looking forward to see how much faster I can go with the extra mileage under my belt. Thanks for the good wishes.

I had always intended jumping into a plan at the race preparation stage around 6 weeks out, but my HR monitor started acting up so it ended up being sooner than that. I may continue with the HADD training after the DCM.

Best of luck at the weekend man. You have approached your training very sensibly, have been consistent and have put the work in now it's time to reap the rewards. This marathon started once seville was over now it's time to reap the rewards on the glory leg (home straight)

    Enjoy it man

    Saturday 27th September (Day 55/56) - 5k Recovery
    3.11 miles @ 10:55 average

Just a very light leg loosener this morning at the breakfast run (aka: the run for the doughnuts). Was joined by Murph_D, WithCheesePlease, belcarra & Roisin for this. Fortunately we all managed to avoid the numerous fallers along the course.

    Splits

    Mile 1 - 11:26
    Mile 2 - 10:47
    Mile 3 - 10:34
    0.11 - 1:09

Just one day left in the plan now - the big one. To borrow the title of DOCO's log: "This is it" :)

Is it warm folks? Just in the door from a 10 miler here in Lux and I was mighty glad of the shade when I had it. Sweating like a good thing now. What time's the start tomorrow?
