.Net Certification Start

Hi Folks,

I was wondering if anyone has gone down the MS certification route for .NET it seems that the majority of development positions require .NET experience and as a result I will need to start down the MS certificaiton path. Can anyone suggest what is the first module/certification to build up. Also any info on places in Dublin that charge for just sitting the test rather than the 3K plus I have seen for some courses. Any and all help appreciated.

Majority of places looking for .Net experience - Not true, I wish it was !

.Net certification needed to get these jobs - Not true, a relevant degree + some experience working with .Net technologies is (in my experience) worth more than the certification.

The exams (Hosted on the Pearson Vue / Certiport platform) can be booked through the Microsoft Learning page for ~€180.

There is another firm called Prometric that you might see. Don't buy their exam vouchers, as MS are stopping certification with them.

The Microsoft virtual academy videos and material can help with covering the exam syllabus.

You don't mention how much work you've done in .Net.
The MTA certifications are the starting level.

MSCD are the next developer level. They require a top up exam every 2 years.
