    No, he gets €20 on top of the social welfare payment, of which €17 goes to tax.

    This guys story doesn't add up. He has to do the school run every day yet his wife only works 7 or 8 hours a WEEK.

    There the issue caller..there are heaps of teachers being churned out every year and the numbers retiring/new roles are just not happening.

    Maybe the part-time job she's got involves being someplace right at the time of the school run times. Might even be a cleaning job or something, where she has no choice but to be in and out of an office between 8am and 9am.

    Good point the caller is making there, majority of these jobbridge positions are in the "general operative" field and dont benefit anyone in the long term career wise in comparison to those in the teaching system.........
