Happened in 1963 apparently but not on a Saturday so it was never read out. Looks like it was just a comedy sketch on the Two Ronnies.

Yeah never happened on air. As he said in the interview he would have loved to announce that score :)

Comments from Rodgers this morning on Talksport
#Rodgers implying England mis-handled #Sturridge as the injury could have been prevented

#Rodgers on #Sterling "We need to be careful". Saying England need to focus on the team, implying that they shouldn't just rely/put pressure

#Rodgers on #Sterling, says he's adapted his game to play in all of #LFC's different systems. Can play all the way across the front line

#Rodgers on #Sterling - "He's a big talent, still on his way to developing and learning. At 19, stay calm with him and let him grow/develop"

#Rodgers on #Baloetlli "It was a calculated risk. The group we have is outstanding/focused. "

#Rodgers on #Balotelli "He's a very clever boy, his talent speaks for himself. He's been fantastic since he's come here" #LFC

    #Rodgers on #balotelli. "At £16m, it was a risk worth taking" #LFC

#Rodgers on #Balotelli "He's a 24yr old man, he has to take responsibility himself, that's also key to it. His king of his own destiny"

Wrong Urban legend. He never did have the chance to announce "East Fife 5 - Forfar 4" but he came very close with the other way round. Anyone with OCD would surely explode with annoyance! :pac:

Nope, was born in 91, first real memories of anything football related were of fowler wearing that white thing on his nose. I did the same once or twice. *Facepalm*

Ah jaysus, I think only Harry here is older than me!
    '73 kid here...

Dont think anybody really does understand the clubs decision tbh

We had a bargain on a plate, we would only have cancelled it something VERY untoward came up. I think even the Balotelli link wouldn't have stopped us, he was that cheap.

    It'll come out eventually...

There was talk here a few months back about the 16 year old Australian kid that signed for the club Jake Brimmer

Well he takes 2 mighty free kicks. 8 seconds and 1 minute.

I read that and thought "Why not say it's at 1 minute and 8 second?", didn't realise it was two occasions!

Two cracking frees. I remember the club talking about him when we were in Oz last summer, someone saw him by chance while we were there. Looks like a good capture!

It's great going into a game after an international break after a couple of injuries and not having to worry about the possibility of Victor Moses being on the team

Yeh, the argument for Lallana coming in, or Lambert starting, or only Coutinho starting!

Great frees, but my God, does he look like a twat with that hair.

Mandatory head shave until he reaches at least the reserves.

In fairness, the Japanese keeper was a bag of sh*te.

Firstly, he's an Aussie, so he gets a "surfer hair" pass there.
Secondly, have you seen some of our youths' hairstyles?
Kent, Wilson, Ojo, and the new signing?

They should all look like this...

    http://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/2014/09/11/frustrated-rodgers-slams-englands-treatment-sturridge?

"We're obviously disappointed because we feel it was an injury which could have been prevented," Rodgers, whose side play Aston Villa on Saturday, told TalkSport.

"He has worked so hard over pre-season and looked very fit and strong in our last game against Tottenham."

Sturridge, who has scored 32 goals in 46 Premier League appearances for Liverpool, is used to having two days to recover after matches and Rodgers believes international teams should take players' needs into more consideration.

"I think clubs work differently at times to international teams. It's more the recovery strategy," the Northern Irishman said. "When we look at our players here we look at them individually in terms of what their needs are.

"Fast players would have a second day recovery while other players can work on that day. When you are that type of player like Daniel Sturridge, Raheem Sterling and boys like Danny Welbeck you need to recover them."

Indeed, he just passes it in, has the pace and height to make it, impressive for a young guy. Here's hoping he progresses in the U18, as the likes of Wilson and Kent may move up, we'll need that creativity...

Delighted to see Rodgers criticise the England national team re Sturridge.

Hopefully he'll hold some players back with mysterious injuries before the next friendly

I think he was injured in training after the friendly and before the Swiss game. Would be hard to see Rodgers holding players back from a competitive game.

Sturridge out for up to 3 weeks according to Rodgers.

Can out for up to 6 weeks.

Allen has an issue with his knee.

Skittles, Johnson and Flanagan not ready for the weekend

Can out for 6 weeks. He went over on his ankle in agony at 6-0, got treatment and they sent him back on. Unbelievable.
