loads of reports in the last hour saying that moutinho might be heading to united as well for 15M
Now that could be a very good signing, even if he hasn't lit the world on fire in France so far.

Blind is class. The offspring of Danny Blind must all have a very high midichlorian count!
Good at LB, and Defensive Midfield.

Looks like Utd are trying to corner the market

The CL obviously holds no appeal to him.

I'd be shocked if our owners would spend that much on a guy his age and injury record.

That's not saying as a fan I wouldn't have loved to see him sign

    Where you read that anyway?

Monaco owner must be pulling all his money out with all these big players leaving.

Really think class might be pushing it with Blind. Looks like a player with a pretty low ability ceiling who is making the most of what he has.

Falcao apparently said no to Liverpool under pretty much the same terms

    I like him already :)

I think it is because he thought he was going to Madrid.

Then they pulled out and he had pick any old team then because no one else wanted him :P

Think he's either going through, or has gone through a messy, and costly divorce.

Also what's happening in the Ukraine has hit his business interests.

Abel Hernandez toHull, great singing for them to replace Long, lots of pace.

all this is why the FFP rules were introduced. Sure, he put all that money in to Monaco, but it looks like he's taking it straight back out again

    He really isnt.
The guy was almost let go on a free 2 seasons ago from Ajax. If it wasnt for Boilesen, their leftback, being so injury prone, Blind would now play for an utrecht or groningen iin Holland.

2 good passes in the WC don't make a player quality, it was the receivers of those passes that made the pass great.

His luck at Utd is, just like at Ajax, there is no fit competition for him.

The receiver of a pass determines its quality? You're having a giraffe. The bitterness of this post is outrageous.

And on your main point, Blind was the Eredivisie's POTY last year. True, he was nearly let go a couple of seasons back, but the lad was only 22 at that stage and had developed a huge amount in the mean time.

United's spending reminds me of the beginning of Perez's second term, all this money to spend but just a complete scatter gun approach.

I think the point being made is that if the player that receives the pass blasts the shot wide, the pass is much quicker forgotten. No slight on the quality of a pass.

The same very nearly happened to Bale in fairness.

Still, the list of people it happened to or nearly happened to contains more Steve Sidwells then it does Gareth Bales.

I suspected it was made up, first I heard of it.

Madrid was his preferred location by all accounts

    Real Sociedad.

Did well when he came on last night v Real Madrid.

He would be a good signing for Villa and leaps and bounds ahead of Cleverley.

He is made of glass though. He was injured more often than healthy at Valencia.

Such a pity, looked a potential world beater at Santander at a very young age.

He didn't fancy playing Champions League, decided he would like a quiet Tuesday and Wednesday evening beside the fire :P

Same story with Blind, Di Maria & Rojo

But sure UTD could never coax players away from the joys of CL football :pac:
