It's the only game in its timeslot, which means it gets exclusive coverage on US telly. If they'd gone later in the day, they'd be against the games starting in the afternoon in the US (Games are at 12, 3:30 & 7, for the most part).

Guarantees as many eyes as possible on this game, which is good for Ireland and good for both teams.

Fair point! Judging by photo's I've seen from the city centre there seems to be a big crowd who've travelled for it so should be a good buzz hopefully!

Gonna play a quick game of Madden 92 on the Megadrive before hitting the hay :)

    Enjoy tomorrow folks

I'm in lower 335 tomorrow right amongst the UCF fans. Drafting Willy Stanback in fantasy football sealed the deal for me for who to shout for. Will throw a few quid on UCF aswell to make all the more important :)

Get to be on the field while they're doing their warm ups too. Wonder if I can give Stanback a pep talk? :pac:

Any luck with this connundrum? Was going to give it a shot myself to try get some freebies, just back from holidays and completely broke but would love to be there to cheer on the nittany lions.

No luck thus far. I do have tickets though, but I've a crappy cold and I wanted to try and steer clear of any weather.

On a side note: The amount of tickets for sale on donedeal and adverts is unreal. People still seeking face value at this late stage. One man on DD was giving his tickets away in fairness, rather see them used than wasted.

OK I've done some checking and both Setanta Ireland and ESPN are showing it, both of which I have thankfully.

Days like this where they come in handy are quite rare.

You can get Setanta/ESPN/BTSports for 1euro for a month, just remember to cancel within 30 days. http://www.setanta.com/ie/subscribe-flat/index.html

I had Setanta etc up until May, cancelled it then and was still able to get this deal.

If you're a fan of omens, the UCF skydiver completely missed Croke Park. It was hilarious (assuming he hasn't had am awkward landing on someone's car)..

Went for over 43.5 pts here, lets get it on.
    Looks fantastic on tv.

Crowd/noise looks decent on telly. Grass looks a bit longer than a normal game, and the markings look a bit faint.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 12,333 ✭✭✭✭JONJO THE MISER

Yeah the markings look dull alright.
Gotta say i love college football more than NFL, more exciting and much more money to be made.

 What a catch, 44 yards.

7-0 Penn State, always will be high scoring for a match abroad as they have been told to go for lots of points to show off the game to foreign crowds.

Wow, didn't think there was enough to overturn that.
