Time of year for cutting hedge

What months can I cut a laurel hedge. Will be cutting it quite severe as wasn't cut this few years. Maybe 3 ft or bit more. Thanks

It's one at a house that was let go wild for a few years

I would worry about an evergreen hedge being pruned this late or in winter, as the newly exposed leaves may be less hardy to severe frosts. It may be best left to next June, but that really depends on how harsh a pruning you are doing. A photo of the hedge would be helpful here.

bit difficult to see the width of it, but It looks like a you have a severe reshaping in mind. If that is the case then I would wait to prune until next June.

Saying that it looks like you have a fine hedge there. Is there a reason you want to do such a severe pruning? It has the potential to be a lovely hedge with a mild prune to shape it to the faces that are there already.

It's only in a yard. Want to cut it back to the wall if I can as it's awkward trying to get in at the timber and clean up
