No sound from my media drive

Hope I got the right forum for this, but I just bought one of these devices. Before even hooking it up to the TV I plugged it straight into the laptop and transferred all my media onto it. Hooked it up to TV and put it on a test run. No problems, perfect sound. In the meantime, another couple of files downloaded, so i hooked up the usb cable and transferred the new files. Safely removed the media drive, (but didn't safely remove the slave drive FFS). Removed the cable from the laptop and went to watch something on the media drive. No sound. Checked volume on TV, media drive, everywhere. Tried switching audio tracks but nothing has worked. Does anybody know what might have caused this and anything that might remedy it?

It's a Sumvision Cyclon Primus V.2 if that helps.
