    Hi,
A few years ago, I got braces which made my teeth perfect. Afterwards, I got a retainer which I used however, after a while, it started getting sore so I stopped. Now, it actually has started causing my jaw to lock but my teeth have shifted. They not crooked again but some teeth are overlapping (not very noticeable from front but I can feel it and there's a small gap in front teeth) I'm just wondering if I'll have to start treatment all over again or is there something else? Would I be right to presume that I'll have to pay more money or would it be fine since I paid for correction in the first place? After seven years of treatment and development of a strong phobia of bad /loose teeth later, I don't relish the idea of going back but I'm worried my teeth will move more. My jaw already locks randomly now and I think it could be to do with the shift in teeth.

See a good general dentist for an assessment of overall oral health if you have have not been for a while. Thereafter, if required, you could be referred to an orthodontist for an opinion.

I would expect you will pay for an opinion, as well as any further treatment.
